He admits he really missed her, and Stephanie feels the exact same way. However, their sweet moment is interrupted when Stephanie receives a call that her father was injured.

Let’s Get the Laptop!
Johnny tells Sarah about what happened during his phone call with Steve, and she urges him to call 911 immediately. Johnny reveals that George is about to leave town, which means he is heading straight for the lab to retrieve that laptop. “Damn it, someone has to get over there before he does,” Sarah says. Johnny offers to go, but Sarah refuses to let him. Since his wife just got out of surgery, Sarah insists on going instead. Johnny warns her that she cannot go alone, so Sarah calls Xander and asks for his help.
Later, the duo races over to the lab. Xander shows Sarah that he brought a gun. He notes that he can be quite persuasive when necessary. “You brought a gun?” she asks in surprise. Xander warns that he is not taking any chances, so he came prepared. They search the area and initially find nothing. However, Xander notices something suspicious. “Gotcha,” he says. “Why is that picture frame so thick?” He pulls the frame away and discovers the laptop hidden right behind it. “We should get out of here,” he urges.
Two Men Get Shot!
As they prepare to leave, George suddenly arrives and demands that they hand over the computer. He threatens to call the police, but Sarah tells him she would love to see him try. George insists he cannot let them leave with the laptop, but Xander tells him he does not have a choice. Xander instructs Sarah to get out of there while he handles the situation. Just then, George pulls out a gun. “No!” Xander screams as George shoots him. Before collapsing on the desk, Xander pulls out his own weapon and shoots George, too!
The Hospital
Meanwhile, Joy arrives at the hospital. Kayla greets her and promises to get everything set up for her exam. As soon as Kayla steps out, Joy quickly downs her muscle relaxant pills.
Later, in the exam room, Kayla recalls what Stephanie previously told her. She informs Joy that she is going to conduct a quick blind test to ensure her mind is not blocking any signs of recovery. “You don’t have a problem with that, do you?” Kayla asks.
Just then, Johnny interrupts the session and reveals to Kayla that it sounds like Steve was assaulted. Horrified, Kayla rushes out to find her husband.
Steve Suspects EJ After the Attack
Steve is rushed to the hospital, where Kayla, Alex, and Stephanie all gather to learn that he was tased. Fortunately, he only suffered minor injuries.
Kayla checks him over and reminds him just how much he means to her. Johnny comes in to check on him, and Kayla leaves the room to give them privacy. Steve thanks Johnny for calling 911, though he worries that George must have gotten his hands on the laptop by now. “Probably not,” Johnny reveals. He explains that Sarah and Xander are already at the lab attempting to retrieve it first.
Jada arrives at the hospital wanting to question Steve. He agrees to talk, but warns her that she needs to dispatch officers over to DiMera immediately. Steve recaps the entire altercation and reveals he believes EJ was the one who tased him. After all, they were the only two people in the area, and Steve had his eyes on O’Halloran the whole time.
Joy’s Nightmare
Back in the exam room, the muscle relaxants take effect, and Joy falls fast asleep. Meanwhile, Kayla mentions that she left Joy waiting in the exam room, so Alex offers to go talk to her. Joy falls into a vivid nightmare where she wakes up and searches for her pills. Realizing she left them in her handbag across the room, she gets out of bed to retrieve them.
Alex walks in and catches her red-handed. “You can walk!” he exclaims. Joy claims it just happened and calls it a miracle, but Alex refuses to buy it. “I am such an idiot,” he says, realizing Stephanie was right all along about Joy faking her injury. He demands to know if Kelsey is even his child and vows to expose her as a lying, conniving, manipulating bitch before suing for full custody.
Joy frantically begs Alex for another chance, only to wake up and realize it was all a dream! She finds Alex standing over her in reality. He asks what she was dreaming about since she seemed so upset, but she claims she can’t remember.
Alex explains that Kayla had to reschedule her exam. As Alex helps position her back in her wheelchair, Joy gasps, “Oh my God!” Alex worries that he hurt her, but Joy clarifies that she can actually feel his touch on her legs.
