Johnny Asks Stephanie for Help and Gets a Warning From Steve
EJ called Johnny, but he chose to ignore it. Shortly after, Stephanie arrived to meet him. Johnny reached out to her because she is a PR expert. He needed advice on how DiMera Enterprises could take responsibility for its past wrongdoing without destroying the company.
He broke the news to her about a massive scandal brewing at DiMera Pharma. The company distributed medicine poisoned with arsenic, and then they covered it up. Stephanie warned Johnny that he must prepare for intense backlash, public scrutiny, and harsh judgment. Still, she reassured him that she built her career on handling major crises. She promised to do her best to ensure Johnny emerges with his head held high.
When Stephanie asked if this was the reason Theo quit, Johnny confirmed it. He explained that he needs to make things right for all the lives the company gambled with for profit.
Just then, Steve arrived with questions for Johnny, so Stephanie stepped away to give them privacy. Steve praised Johnny for doing the righteous thing by handing the police information on his father. However, Steve warned him to watch his back. He notes that EJ will definitely come after him. Johnny insisted his dad would never hurt him.
Steve then dropped the news that Rachel is currently in the hospital. Johnny was shocked. Steve added that Rachel only wants her mother right now, but Brady has no idea where she is. Knowing EJ forced Kristen out of town, Steve asked if Johnny could help locate her.
Johnny admitted he didn’t know much. He shared that, according to EJ, Kristen used Sophia to try to kill Johnny, so EJ was simply taking his revenge.
“Well, it’s too bad we can’t ask Sophia,” Steve said.
Joy Moves In With Alex while Hidden Secrets Brew
Over at the hospital, Kayla talked to Joy about her discharge. Joy was thrilled that she and Kelsey would be staying with Alex. However, Kayla reminded her that Stephanie willingly agreed to accommodate this arrangement. Kayla emphasized that the living situation is only temporary.
Alex soon arrived with baby Kelsey and asked Joy if she was ready to go.
“You have no idea,” Joy replied.
Kayla reminded them that she and Steve are always available to help out with Kelsey. After Kayla left, Joy asked Alex if looking after his own daughter felt like a burden, but Alex assured her it didn’t.
They headed to the apartment, and Joy was over the moon to be there. Alex encouraged her to stick with her physical therapy. He promised that she would be out of her wheelchair in no time. While Joy sat inside dreaming of a future with him, Alex stepped out into the hallway and called Stephanie.
Stephanie walked up as he was on the phone and told him that she loves him too. Alex kissed her and admitted that he missed her already, and Stephanie felt the exact same way. He headed off just as baby Kelsey started crying and fussing inside.
Joy tried using her wheelchair to get to the baby. Outside, Stephanie was about to walk into Jada’s apartment when she heard the cries. She knocked on the door and called out for Joy. Inside, Joy suddenly stood up out of her wheelchair and attended to Kelsey right as Stephanie turned the doorknob. But does Stephanie see her?
Kristen Tracks Down Sophia in Kentucky
Far away in Paducah, Kentucky, Kristen sat outside Kay’s Diner. She pulled up a photo of Sophia working as a waitress on her tablet, then looked through the window and spotted the girl serving a table inside.
Kristen walked in, and a waitress using the alias “Amelia” approached her with a southern accent to take her order. Kristen lowered her menu and revealed her identity.
“Or should I say Sophia?” she asked.
