Days of Our Lives Recap January 17, 2024: Today on Days of Our Lives – Sarah completes her move into Xander’s apartment. Kayla and Steve host a family dinner with Tripp, Wendy, and Stephanie. Stephanie and Everett continue to bond. Harris confronts Ava at the docks. Stefan sends a message to Harris.
Days Recap Today: Sarah Moves In!
Xander arranges the boxes containing Sarah’s belongings as she finishes moving in. Subsequently, Sarah goes to check on Victoria to ensure she is still asleep, while Xander reminisces about the night he asked her to move in. Upon Sarah’s return, she reports that Victoria is still asleep and suggests that they heat up one of his favorite Scottish dishes. However, due to the large number of boxes in the way, they may not be able to access it.

Expressing his desire for their comfort in the new space, Xander proposes condensing some of Sarah’s belongings. Sarah agrees, acknowledging that they both can reduce their belongings. She plans to ask her mother to store some of their items. As they deliberate on what to keep, Xander discovers that Sarah has a “Xander box” containing mementos from their time together. Intrigued, he decides to explore its contents.
However, as soon as he finds the wedding photo, Sarah promptly closes the box and declares that they should stop for the night. Xander is in pain, and Sarah offers him a massage as they negotiate responsibilities such as dinner, laundry and taking out the trash. Sarah is willing to do his laundry if he agrees to go to the grocery store. Encountering a moment of intensity, Xander and Sarah share a kiss. After, they agree to prioritize being good parents and to do what is best for their daughter.
Days Recap Today: Another Family Dinner!
Stephanie, Kayla, and Steve make preparations for the family dinner, expressing a wish for Joey’s presence, just as Tripp and Wendy arrive bearing pie for dessert. Kayla anticipates a delightful dinner for the five of them, prompting Tripp to inquire whether Stephanie will be dining alone for the evening. After, Everett calls Stephanie, expressing an interest in inviting her for a meal; however, she politely declines, citing her commitment to the family dinner. In response, Everett proposes the possibility of another occasion, to which Stephanie counteroffers to have him join them instead. Upon his arrival, Stephanie introduces Everett to her family, as he presents wine and flowers. Meanwhile, Steve begins to question Everett about his relationship with Stephanie.

Seated at the table, Everett discloses the circumstances of meeting Stephanie at a coffee shop in Seattle. Steve expresses surprise at not being aware of his daughter’s relationship with someone in Seattle. Stephanie explains that she preferred to assess their relationship before informing her parents. Steve then questions if Everett relocated to Salem with the intention of reuniting with Stephanie. Despite Stephanie’s reluctance to have her father question Everett, he is willing to elaborate that they are currently just friends and he respects Stephanie’s decision.
A Treasure Hunt!
Tripp decides to shift the topic of conversation. Tripp and Wendy showcase the GEO cash game on their phone, explaining their interest in introducing it to Salem. Stephanie proposes the idea of charity and having The Spectator sponsor it, while Kayla suggests it as a potential asset for the hospital. Stephanie offers to contact Mayor Price first thing in the morning to initiate the process, and they proceed to set a date. Tripp suggests February 14 as the date, which garners Steve’s enthusiasm due to the idea of a treasure hunt on his anniversary with Kayla. They collaborate on determining the items for the hunt by individually documenting their suggestions. Stephanie proposes reconvening as Tripp and Wendy depart as he has an early shift at the hospital tomorrow.

Stefan engages in a conversation with Gabi over the phone, expressing how much he misses her. Meanwhile, on the loading dock, Ava questions Harris about the reason behind his text from an unknown number. Harris, in turn, wonders why she chose to meet him despite not knowing the sender of the message. He cautions her about the significant illicit activities taking place and urges her to exercise caution. Expressing genuine concern, he implores her to divulge the truth, emphasizing the importance of transparency.

Ava asserts her ambition to excel as a manager and attempts to end the discussion. However, Harris senses a change in her demeanor and reinforces his support. As Ava attempts to depart claiming that outside is cold, Harris offers her his jacket, expressing his worry and a desire to assist her. Ava accuses him of raiding her business and pleads with him to cease his inquiries. Harris discards his badge by placing it into her hands, emphasizing he cares for her. He reminisces about the positive aspects of their past together, and as they are about to kiss, they are interrupted by Stefan.
After a brief confrontation, Stefan ushers Ava away. Despite her frustration, he reveals that he intervened to prevent Ava from confiding in Harris. When Harris re-enters, tension escalates, and a consequential kiss between Stefan and Ava. Harris mentions Stefan’s marital infidelity and eventually departs. After, Ava questions Stefan about his forceful kiss, to which he justifies as a strategic necessity. Stefan warns Ava to steer clear of the officer, emphasizing the dire consequences it could lead to.
