Days of Our Lives Recap Tuesday, January 16, 2024:
Days of Our Lives Recap : Theresa and Brady learn good news about Tate. Alex apologizes to Justin. Harris conducts a raid at the Bistro as Ava and Stefan scramble. Eric and Sloan have John and Marlena over for dinner.
DAYS RECAP TODAY: The Family Dinner
Sloan is feeling nervous about the dinner with the “royalties” of Salem. She wants everything to be perfect. However, Eric tells her to relax as John and Marlena arrive early. Sloan offers them something to drink, but they politely decline and ask for sparkling water. The conversation turns to Holly, and Sloan mentions that she and Eric would do anything to protect their son from drugs and bad influences, even if it means lying. Marlena becomes curious, and Sloan clarifies that she would only tell a harmless white lie. She seeks advice from Marlena, who is a mother and a shrink, as she is a first-time mom. She believes Marlena has plenty of good tips to give, especially since she “popped out two twins right off the bat.”
However, Marlena clarifies that it wasn’t right off the bat because she had a son named DJ, who died of SIDS. Later, Sloan tries to make the evening entertaining by telling jokes, but Marlena doesn’t react. Sloan takes this opportunity to express that Marlena is rather intimidating. Eric suggests that Sloan should lie down, but she declines as she doesn’t want to miss the dinner. An emotional Sloan apologizes for making a mess of things while she just wanted the dinner to be perfect.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES RECAP TODAY:
Marlena gets some water for Sloan to hydrate, just as Jude wakes up. John suggests taking the little guy out for a walk to help him get back to sleep. As they get to the square, they discuss how Sloan tried to make a good impression at dinner but ended up making a bad first impression. John wonders if Sloan’s drinking is a one-time thing or if she has a drinking problem while Marlena hopes she doesn’t have a drinking problem for Eric and the baby’s sake.
Meanwhile, Eric tries to get Sloan to lie down, but she wants to dance instead. When Eric asks why she got drunk, she tells him that she was afraid that his mom wouldn’t like her. In the square, John receives a call from Brady, who informs him that Tate is being transferred to a juvenile facility. They make plans to go to the station to say goodbye to Tate. Sloan apologizes to Eric for making a mess of the evening and says that she has made bigger mistakes. Sloan is about tell him what mistakes when Marlena and John return with Jude, and tell Eric about Tate’s transfer.
A RAID AT THE BISTRO
At the station, Harris receives an alert and quickly leaves with the police officers. Meanwhile, at the Bistro, Stefan and Ava discuss hiding a new batch of drugs. Later on, Harris and the police arrive at the Bistro, shouting “Salem PD, nobody moves, this is a raid“.
Ava questions Harris about why he is doing this, suspecting that it might be because she broke up with him. Harris clarifies that he is concerned about the Bistro’s ownership by the DiMera family and urges Ava to tell him the truth so that he can help. Ava believes Harris is behaving like a brat because she ended their relationship.
Harris tries to reason with her, but Stefan intervenes and threatens to sue the city over the raid.
After the search, Harris informs them that no drugs were found on the premises and apologizes to Ava. She apologizes to the guests on behalf of the Bistro and offers them a free dinner. Stefan reveals to Ava that he had an interesting conversation with a valuable partner, who disclosed that he received insider information about the raid. As a result, the partner’s associate arrived in the nick of time to remove the drugs from the Bistro before the raid commenced.
While Stefan receives a call from Gabi, Ava receives a text message from an unknown number asking her to meet on the loading dock immediately. When Ava arrives at the dock, she is surprised to find Harris there.
TATE GETS GOOD NEWS
Brady is meeting with Alex and Theresa in the interrogation room. Shortly after, Justin arrives followed by Tate, causing everyone to become excited to see him. Justin informs them that he has made a case for Tate to be transferred to a juvenile facility and the judge has approved it. They are concerned that EJ might try to get the judge to revoke the decision, but Justin is confident that his strong case will hold up. Tate wonders why he needs to go to rehab, as he does not do drugs. Justin explains that the facility is also meant for behavioral issues, and although Tate claims he does not have any, Justin says that it is the only option they have right now. Justin then asks one of Tate’s parents to pack up his things since he will be leaving on a police transport tonight.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES RECAP TODAY:
Justin informs them that the bus is scheduled to leave tonight as the rehab center is located in Southern Illinois. Theresa expresses her desire to follow the bus and make sure that her son is settled in properly, but Justin informs her that it is against the rules and regulations, and no outside contact is allowed for the first month of Tate’s residency. Despite her concerns, Tate assures his mother that he will be alright.
Later, Theresa arrives with Tate’s belongings as Justin and Tate arrive. Justin receives a message from EJ stating that he accepts the judge’s order and that he will not appeal it. Alex apologizes to Justin for doubting his legal skills and calls him a great lawyer. Justin accepts Alex’s apology and reassures him that he will always be there for him. Later, John and Marlena arrive, and the family says their emotional goodbyes as Tate departs with Justin.
