Let’s be honest one of the best things about our soaps, are the resurrections. Where else can you turn on your TV and get stellar story lines, powerful performances, and a pulsing payoff for a death story with a good cleansing cry saying “good-bye” to a fav knowing it can all be fixed with a stroke of the writer’s pen?
Nicole ain’t even dead yet but we are all counting down and praying for her return.
Now this resurrection thing isn’t without its drawbacks. There are times when soaps can take it too far. Sometimes they could at least try and not throw all logic out the window. They could give some level of realism. Yes, it’s an oxymoron to even discuss “realism” when talking about people coming back from the dead lol. But you get our drift.
But Days has set up a “realistic” framework. It’s already been established that Dr. Rolf had been working on this ground breaking formula. It’s not like we haven’t seen the fruits of his labor, Will Horton. During Will’s return, we heard Kristen say EJ was alive. And we got a glimpse of postmortem Vivian after Kate thought she had finally exacted the ultimate revenge.
Yet still it was mind blowing to see all those doors with initials on them wasn’t it? It’s actually a full blown lab of people who were snatched from the jaws of death.
Days has their own purgatory!!
Today’s episode had our heads swimming. So much to ponder and discuss. So many questions.
What names go with those initials? Well most of us have probably figured that out already.
How many others could be there? To quote Brady that place is nothing but “long hallways, locked doors, steel and metal.”
Is The Phoenix really going to rise again while Joe is resting with the angels?
Is this just too much even for a soap? This means for real nobody will ever “die” in Salem again.
We can all dry our Nicole tears now.
And this my most pressing question. Salem is not known for homes, so where are all these “resurrects” going to live??? I’m just saying……
Could A.V stand for Ava Vitali, A.D – Andre DiMera, Anthony DiMera or Alexandra DiMera, S.D – Stefano DiMera, V.A – Vivian Alamain and W.R – Wilhelm Rolf?
