A man who lived his life as a hero, a romantic, a devoted father—in short, all the good things rolled into one—has passed away. Salem is now left to process the heartbreaking loss of John Black (the late Drake Hogestyn). And, in true Salem fashion, the community gathers to pay their final respects to a man whose legacy is impossible to ignore.
With decades of heroism, unforgettable moments, and that unmistakable John Black charm, it’s no surprise that this funeral draws quite the crowd. The service begins… but it wouldn’t be a proper Salem farewell without a special someone. Enter: Bo Brady (Peter Reckell).
Bo and Hope Reconnect
Yes, that Bo. After spending quite some time in a coma, Bo’s finally awake—though he’s missed quite a lot. Not wanting to overload him, Hope (Kristian Alfonso) initially keeps John’s death under wraps.
But, according to Days spoilers for June 10, Bo and Hope reconnect in a meaningful way. The big question: during their emotional reunion, does Hope finally break the news? And if so, is that what sends Bo straight to the funeral just moments later?
Aftrer all, how could this funeral possibly go on without Bo Brady?
Someone’s Upset
Meanwhile, not everyone is handling this goodbye well. Rachel (Alice Halsey) is growing increasingly upset, and understandably so. She’s struggling to accept her grandfather’s death. But there’s also the fact that every time she’s around Johnny (Carson Boatman), painful memories resurface. Specifically, the night EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) was shot. Is it grief, trauma, or both? Time will tell.
Adoption Questions
Elsewhere in Salem, Chanel (Raven Bowens) has questions of her own. Now that she and Johnny have stepped away from the adoption process, she’s curious about where things stand for Tate (Leo Howard) and Sophia (Rachel Boyd).
One thing’s for sure: you can’t afford to miss it.
