The Anniversary of John’s Death
Initially, Marlena (Deidre Hall) refused to take the chess set Stefano left for her during the reading of his will. But somehow, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) thought it would be a thoughtful gesture to bring the set to one of their therapy sessions.
And surprisingly, Marlena ended up taking it home.
Now, as a new day begins in Salem, emotions are running especially high because it marks the anniversary of John Black’s death. Family and friends rally around Marlena as she continues grieving the loss of the love of her life.
While checking out the old DiMera chessboard, Belle (Martha Madison) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) stumble upon a shocking discovery. As they look over the setup, the siblings realize that one symbolic piece is missing from the set: the pawn.
Given Stefano’s twisted history of using Salem residents as literal pawns in his games, this missing piece feels like a deliberate, chilling message from beyond the grave.
Holly Faces a Terrifying Legal Nightmare
Meanwhile, Holly (Ashley Puzemis) is drowning in emotional turmoil. Between dealing with the trauma of Sophia’s (Rachel Boyd) presumed death and enduring the hostile way Mrs. Choi (Shi Ne Nielson) has been treating her lately, Holly is at her breaking point.
Things go from bad to worse when Holly accidentally overhears a private conversation that stops her dead in her tracks. Mrs. Choi is determined to get vengeance for her child, and she explicitly states that she is going to legally pursue Holly for manslaughter! Terrified and overwhelmed, Holly turns to Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) to open up about her struggles.
Days Spoilers May 29: Eli Comforts Lani as Foster Makes a Request of Julie
Over in another part of town, Eli (Lamon Archey) steps up to comfort his wife during an incredibly stressful week. Lani (Sal Stowers) has a huge amount on her plate right now.
Not only did her sister Chanel (Raven Bowens) just receive devastating medical news regarding her cancer diagnosis, but Paulina (Jackee Harry) and Abe’s (James Reynolds) lives have also been thrown into complete chaos following the shocking return of Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford).
Finally, Friday’s episode brings a surprising lighthearted moment as Foster (Miles Anderson) decides to take a chance and asks Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) out for a nice dinner.
