EJ’s (Dan Feuerriegel) sudden interest in Chad (Conner Floyd) and Belle’s (Martha Madison) affairs is already stirring up plenty of drama—and it’s only going to get worse. After all, EJ, true to form, doesn’t know how to just mind his business… especially not when it has to do with the chessboard his father willed to Marlena (Deidre Hall)!
To that end, he surprises Belle and Chad regarding their trip to Italy. Now they’re so caught up in the crossfire that they’re completely oblivious to the biggest threat of all: someone is lurking in the shadows, quietly keeping eyes on every single move they make.
Chanel Questions Johnny’s Loyalty
Over with Salem’s favorite young couple, the happy-moon phase is hitting a sudden speed bump as Chanel (Raven Bowens) starts questioning Johnny’s (Carson Boatman) loyalty. While they’ve been trying to focus on the future, a trust issue bubbles up that leaves her second-guessing where his heart—or his allegiances—really lie.
That is especially true after she overhears Marlena and Johnny having a tense discussion about what… and what not… he is keeping hidden for his father. Johnny’s going to have to do some serious damage control, because once Chanel’s guard goes up, it’s going to take a lot more than sweet talk to convince her that he’s totally innocent.
Holly Opens Her Heart to Tate & Rita Goes Rogue
Meanwhile, Holly (Ashley Puzemis) finds herself needing a shoulder to lean on and ends up opening her heart to Tate (Leo Howard). After a whirlwind of emotional stress lately—almost dying, EJ trying to frame her for an addiction, and almost getting mugged—she finally drops her walls and lets Tate in on what’s really weighing on her mind.
And finally, things get tricky on the job as Rita (Maggie Carney) decides to take matters into her own hands and doesn’t exactly follow orders, according to Days spoilers for September 4. Going rogue in Salem is always a big gamble, and breaking protocol usually comes with a heavy price tag. But this is Rita we are talking about. She is loyal to the DiMeras to a T, so her not following orders is definitely not out of character!
