“From California skies to Carolina tides, with Texas grit and a touch of European roots…” Greg Vaughan (Eric, Days of Our Lives) is celebrating a major academic achievement for his eldest son, Jathan Vaughan, who is now a freshman at the University of Alabama.
Greg, who is best known to daytime soap opera fans, made the announcement on Instagram. Alongside a carousel of photos depicting family moments, Vaughan added, “Every memory and mile we’ve shared has led you here. Now a freshman at the University of Alabama, stepping into dorm life, roommates, and fraternity brotherhood… maybe even an extra freshman 15lbs 
.“

The father’s pride shone brightly through his caption, “Khakis, ties, loafers, and buckskin tips—he’s embracing the southern manor ways, becoming a man now and forever. With a senior big sis keeping an eye on you, proud doesn’t even begin to cover it. I love ya, son!”
Shanna Moakler, Greg’s real-life girlfriend, was among the many people who commented to congratulate Jathan. She wrote, “Such a proud moment babe!!! Go Jathan!!!

Greg Vaughan has been captivating the hearts of many since his daytime soap opera debut back in 2002, when he started playing the role of Diego Guittierez on The Young and the Restless. Although he didn’t stay there long, Vaughan continued to make a name among daytime soap TV viewers as he was tapped as a recast Lucky Spencer on General Hospital from 2003 – 2009. Three years later, he joined Days of Our Lives as a recast Eric Brady.
Beyond his acting career, Vaughan is the proud father of three boys from his previous marriage to Dutch model and actress Touriya Haoud.
