Spoiler alert: do not read any further if you haven’t checked out today’s episode of Days of our Lives on Peacock! The episode, which aired on January 7th, 2025, was filled with a lot of drama surrounding the fallout of Johnny and Joy’s actions, Bonnie and Hattie making up, Leo and Javi deciding to be friends, Stephanie turning to Chad for help, Body and Soul being a hot mess, and the big reveal of who the new Lady Whistleblower is!
The episode kicked off with Leo and Joy in the Town Square. He informed her that he was writing her out of some scenes opposite Chanel. Joy quickly realized Leo knew about her “hookup” with Johnny, and as a result, she worried about appearing in the latest gossip column. Joy exited, and in came Javi, who was not exactly thrilled to run into Leo; however, after some chatter, the two ended up deciding on being friends. As they shook hands on it, Kerry came in, only to interrupt the moment and left to go home with Javi moments later!

Meanwhile, Stephanie was the least bit thrilled while reading the latest Whistleblower column, which spilled the beans about Alex and Joy’s little rendezvous and how it might make her feel. Moments later, Abe popped in for a visit. She wished him a happy new year, but clearly he was not bearing the face of a happy man. He then declared they needed to tackle this gossip menace. When Abe left, Stephanie had a bright idea: Why not hit up Chad for help?
Body & Soul
On the set of “Body & Soul,” Chanel informed Johnny that she was quitting. Later, Abe came and was disappointed to hear the news; he reminded Chanel of the contract she signed. But Chanel insisted on leaving the show, suggesting that her role could be recast because it happens all the time on a soap opera.
Johnny, feeling a strong sense of loyalty to Chanel, made a surprising decision: he would quit his position as director so that Chanel wouldn’t have to leave her lead role. However, Abe wasn’t ready to give up without a fight. He expressed his concerns about losing his young stars, knowing how vital they were to the show’s success. Despite his attempts to reason with her, Chanel remained resolute in her decision to quit. With a heavy heart, she exited the building.
At The Brady Pub, Alex was playing therapist for Joy, who was a hot mess. As Joy went to her room, Chanel came in with tears. Alex was quick to give her a shoulder to cry on! Meanwhile, at the Kiriakis mansion, Hattie dropped by to see Bonnie. They had a little sit-down to clear the air—just in time for Bonnie to have her lightbulb moment: getting Hattie back on “Body & Soul.” So, the duo ambushed Leo Stark to pitch their grand idea—he was all in, but only after Hattie swore on his version of the “bible”.
Days of our Lives: The Big Reveal
In the end, while Javi went home with Kerry, Chad opted to help Stephanie out. Via his checks, he was able to uncover that The Spectator is paying Lady Whistleblower directly into an account under the name Lady Whistleblower LLC. He was also able to find a routing number for the bank where the pay checks are being wired to. As Stephanie did some digging, she found the routing number attached to Spaulding-Lewis Bank & Trust in Rochester, New York.
So, whoever the new gossip columnist obviously has connections to Rochester. Back to Kerry, Javi was about to take a shower to return to hear all about Kerry’s time in Rochester with his charming family. When Javi exits, Kerry pulls out his phone and begins his new column. He wrote, “I hope you all enjoyed the latest tea our fair Whistleblower brewed up about the hot mess at “Body & Soul,” but I’m just getting started.”
