Eagle-eyed viewers who actually stick around for the closing credits of their favorite soaps know that when an actor’s name disappears from the contract crawl, a big shift is underway. Case in point: during a recent credits crawl on Days of Our Lives, one particular name was noticeably absent. That would be Vico Escorcia, who stepped in to recast Arianna Horton starting with the April 8, 2026 episode.

Jason47—a longtime fan of the show who provides detailed archives, statistics, cast lists, and episode rankings—shared how Escorcia’s name was officially removed from the contract list.

Key takeaways

  • Vico Escorcia’s name was removed from the Days contract list.
  • She took over as Arianna Horton in April 2026.
  • Other actors have moved from contract to recurring status.
  • This does not necessarily mean Vico is leaving Salem.

Following a Familiar Salem Pattern

This means that, much like others before her—namely Galen Gering, Brandon Beemer, and Elia Cantu, who were recently removed from the contract sections themselves—Escorcia could very well continue appearing on the show on a recurring basis. A shift to recurring doesn’t mean Arianna is vanishing into thin air, but it certainly changes how often we might see her popping up around town!

Vico took over the role from Marissa Reyes and, at the time of her debut, was super ecstatic about stepping into Salem. On Instagram, she enthusiastically shared: “Aterrizando en Salem! I am deeply honored to announce that I am joining the iconic cast of Days of Our Lives as the new Arianna Horton.”

An Award-Winning Talent in Salem

Losing a contract spot for a powerhouse talent like Escorcia is definitely a surprise. Before landing in daytime, Vico Escorcia was nominated for two Ariel Awards (the Mexican Oscars) and won a Silver Goddess Award (Mexico’s equivalent of a Golden Globe) for her outstanding performance in Los Crímenes del Mar del Norte. The Franco-Mexican actress is also fluent in English, Spanish, and French, bringing a rich international resume and serious acting chops to the canvas.

While credit shifts can be nerve-wracking for fans, hopefully we will see Arianna more often than not.

So, how do you feel about this casting shift? Are you hoping Vico Escorcia sticks around on recurring, or were you wanting to see Arianna Horton get a massive, front-and-center contract storyline? Drop your thoughts in the comments below!
