Long-running soap operas Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless will soon be available to stream for Netflix users in Canada only. Soap Opera News has learned that beginning October 26, Netflix Canada will offer previously aired catalogue episodes of both iconic series.
DAYS and Y&R Are Coming to Netflix Canada
As far as we know, this catalogue release is exclusively a Canada-only offering. But fear not—new episodes of both shows will continue to be available through Corus Entertainment in Canada!
Y&R is Still Going Strong
The Young and the Restless, which has held the spot as the #1 daytime drama for over 35 consecutive years, revolves around the loves, enmities, hopes, and fears of the residents of fictional Genoa City.
The show kicks off its milestone 54th season on Thursday, October 8! Plus, even more exciting changes are on the horizon—new head writing material by Emmy Award-winning co-head writers Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor will begin airing on November 11.
The series originally premiered on March 26, 1973, on CBS, where it continues. Episodes are also available for streaming on Paramount+.
DAYS is Too
Meanwhile, Days of Our Lives—which aired on NBC from November 8, 1965, to September 9, 2022, before moving exclusively to Peacock on September 12, 2022—is set in the fictional town of Salem.
The soap was officially renewed in July 2025 through its sixty-third season, which will run during the 2027–2028 television season!
The long-running saga follows the triumphs and tragedies of the Horton, Brady, Kiriakis, Hernandez, and DiMera families, bringing viewers everything from classic love triangles and wedding-day shockers to switched identities, wild kidnappings, lingering comas, and back-from-the-dead stories.
