In today’s recap of Days of Our Lives for March 31, 2023: Marlena has an emotional reunion with Eric and Belle, Steve informs Stephanie that Kayla is alive, Hope confronts Megan, and Bo and Kayla arrive at Victor’s childhood home, where Bo reveals his plans to his sister.
John brings Marlena home and he tells her that he wants to plan a celebration. She’s so happy to be home and they talk about how much everyone missed her. Marlena suggests letting everyone know she’s alive. Eric and Belle come over a little later and are arguing in the living room when John comes in and tells them that he didn’t invite them over to play referee. He tells the that they found Megan and they are both happy that Megan will pay for killing Marlena.
John tells them that she won’t pay for that and they don’t understand until Marlena comes out, revealing to them that she’s alive. She tells them what Megan did and they share a tearful reunion. After they finish celebrating Marlena talks to them about hearing them argue and tells them she wants them to all put aside their differences and be a peaceful family. They both agree to try, for her sake. John and Marlena tell them the news about Kate and Kayla. They all think that whoever killed Kate, also has Kayla.
Steve visits Megan in her cell in the ISA facility and demands she tells him where Kayla is. She taunts him about knowing who has her and is about to reveal it when Steve gets a call from Stephanie. He steps out to take the call and tells her that Megan’s in custody and that Kayla’s alive. Stephanie is overjoyed and wants to talk to her. Steve has to break the news that he hasn’t found her yet but that they found Marlena and she told them Kayla’s alive too. He promises her that he’s going to find Kayla and bring her home.
After his call, Steve goes back to question Megan again and she tells him that she’ll give him the information he wants in exchange for full immunity. He tells her that it will never happen and she relents, offering the information in exchange for serving her sentence at Statesville and not in ISA custody.
Hope is surprised to find Harris cuffed to his hospital bed and tells him that she’s spoken to his doctors and that they’re trying to determine if he’s really been completely deprogrammed and can be freed. She doesn’t think he’s a threat to anyone but he thinks the ISA won’t take the chance and will make him disappear. Hope tells him that she’s not going to let them happen and asks Andrew if he’s going to when he comes into the room.
Andrew tells her that the information Harris gave them led Steve and John to Megan and that she is in ISA custody, and, he says, that’s not all they found. Hope is thrilled when he tells her that Marlena and Kayla are alive but concerned when he tells her that Kayla is missing. He’s confident that they can get Megan to tell them where she is. Hope tells him that she can get Megan to talk and Harris agrees. She tells him that she has to do it for Bo and Andrew reluctantly agrees to let her try. After Hope leaves Andrew thanks Harris for the risks he took and the information he gave the ISA. He tells him that they are all in his debt and that if the tests show that he is no longer under Megan’s control he may be able to leave a free man.
Hope goes to talk to Megan and tells her about Harris being deprogrammed. Megan figures out that Hope is falling for Harris and taunts her about it, asking if she’s really ready to give up on everyone else. Hope asks what she means but they are interrupted by Steve returning with Megan’s deal. She reads it over and signs it and once she does Steve demands to know who took Kayla.
Chad tries to discuss Paulina’s campaign but Stephanie’s too distracted by her father’s search for Megan. He suggests that she try calling him again for an update. After she talks to her father, Chad is astonished to find out that Kayla is alive and thrilled for Stephanie. She apologizes for being so happy when his family has been so devastated for so long and has to tell him that Marlena and Kayla are alive but Kate’s dead. Chad doesn’t understand how that could happen but is still happy for Stephanie for getting her mother back.
Bo brings Kayla to a run-down house and announced that they’ve reached their destination. She angrily demands to know where he’s brought her. Bo takes her to get supplies and they argue more when they get back. He finally tells her that they’re in Greece at Victor’s childhood home. He tells her about Victor’s childhood and that he brought her there because he wants to do what his father did. Bo tells Kayla that Victor’s dreams of building an empire started in that house and he is going to follow in his footsteps and build his own, starting in the same place.
Kayla tries to reason with Bo, telling him that his place is with his family in Salem but he refuses to listen. She reminds him that Victor is an evil man and the head of a criminal empire but Bo wants what Victor has: money, power, and freedom. He’s determined to connect with his Kiriakis roots and push aside all things Brady. He tells her that he was lied to his whole life and treated like a black sheep because of the truth about who he was and he wants something else now. He doesn’t want anything to do with any part of his old life, including his children. Kayla gives up and tells him that he can do what he wants but she’s leaving. Bo tells her that he can’t let her do that because he needs her help.
Bo takes out his gun and sets it on the table and tells her that he needs her help with his plan. He shows her the orchid and Rolf’s notebook and asks her to help him replicate the fountain of youth serum that Rolf created. He asks her to look over the notes and goes to make them something to eat with a warning for her to not try to leave. She can’t quell her curiosity and looks over the notes. Once Bo comes back out she tells him that the notebook is genius and madness. He tells her that dinner will be ready soon and goes back into the kitchen. Kayla searches his bag and finds a phone. She tries to call Steve but the call doesn’t go through so she calls Stephanie instead. Stephanie thinks it could be her father calling when her phone rings and is amazed to hear her mother on the other line!
