Spoilers for Days of Our Lives on June 20, 2023:Abe confronts Whitley about the memory he had from his wedding day. Chanel, Julie, Eli, and Theo continue to comfort Paulina. Julie and Gabi’s old animosity resurfaces. Leo confronts Megan about her and Dimitri using Gwen. Dimitri declares his love for Gwen.

Days of Our Lives Episode Recap June 20, 2023: Gabi and Julie Face Off

Julie, Eli, Chanel, and Theo continue to rally around Paulina while Abe is missing. After Julie and Eli leave, Paulina asks Theo about the Juneteenth ceremony and he tells her all about it. He gives her a beautiful woven blanket that a woman had made for her and Abe and asked Theo to give it to them. Theo tells them he is staying at the Salem Inn. Chanel and Paulina try to talk him out of it but he insists and promises to visit as much as he can while he is in town. After Theo leaves Chanel and Paulina look at her wedding album and Paulina remembers Abe’s vows to her.

Abe accuses Whitley of not actually being his wife because he remembers another woman in his memory of his wedding. She tries to tell him he is mistaken but he demands proof that they are married. Whitley lies and tells him that their wedding photo album was destroyed in a fire so he suggests calling Chanel to ask her to send the picture she had on her phone. Whitley covers by telling him she has one on her computer and quickly photoshops her face over Paulina’s in a picture from the paper online. 

When Whitley shows Abe the picture he feels bad for doubting her and asks how he can make it up to her. Whitley wants to renew their vows and gets dressed up for the occasion. Abe finds it all ridiculous but goes along with it to make her happy.

Gabi and Stefan are having lunch in the Square. Gabi is talking about plans for their wedding but Stefan is distracted thinking about EJ. He thinks he is up to something to undermine them at DiMera and thinks they should be planning a counterattack. Julie and Eli see them and Julie lashes out at Gabi when Stefan mentions her having his heart. She tells him everything that Gabi did to Lani regarding the heart and is disgusted when Stefan says that he is proud of Gabi for it. Eli confronts him when he disparages Lani but Julie pulls him away, telling him that Stefan isn’t worth it. Later Julie apologizes to Eli but he understands.

Megan checks in with Li about Dr. Rolf and encourages him to get him to Salem as quickly as possible. She is alarmed when Leo comes out of the secret passage and has a letter opener ready to stab him with as she questions if he went near the wine cellar. She puts it down once she realizes that he didn’t and is amused when he confronts her about Dimitri and Gwen. Leo is convinced that there is a dastardly plan going on but Megan assures him that there isn’t and that Dimitri is truly taken with Gwen. 

Leo doesn’t believe her but leaves after giving her a final warning. Megan is about to bring lunch down to EJ and Kristen when Theo walks in. He introduces himself and tells her that he is looking for EJ. Megan tells him that EJ is out of town and they chat and get to know one another. Theo tells her that she isn’t as bad as everyone says she is and promises to stop by again.

Dimitri and Gwen finish making love and talk about their connection and attraction to each other. Gwen is worried about blurring the lines when they have more interviews lined up so Dimitri says they should keep it strictly personal between them and cancel the other interviews. He lays the charm on thick and declares his love for Gwen and proposes to her. She is shocked but before she has to answer Leo barges in and demands to know what is going on. 

Gwen tries to get him to leave but when he doesn’t Dimitri kisses her before going to get dressed and telling her to think about what he said. Leo presses her to tell him what that means and she confesses that Dimitri proposed to her. When Dimitri gets home Megan is thrilled with his progress. Gabi and Stefan overhear them talking about a wedding but Megan covers by telling them it was their wedding they were talking about and informing them that she is throwing them an engagement party they will never forget.
