It is with great sadness in our hearts that we report the passing of former soap star, Joseph Campanella who passed away today, May 16, 2018. Campanella is well known to daytime viewers having played the roles of, Harper Deveraux on ‘Days of Our Lives’ from 1987 – 1988 and 1990 – 1992, Joe Torino on ‘Guiding Light’ from 1959 – 1960 and Jonathan Young on ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ from 1996 – 2005.
Campanella who appeared in more than 200 TV and films roles was born on November 21, 1924, he, unfortunately, passed away at his home in Sherman Oaks, California at the age of 93 according to Variety. He is survived by Jill Campanella, his wife of 53 years, as well as his seven sons and eight grandchildren. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
