Dorell Anthony, an actor, writer and producer recently stopped by Soap Opera News for a lovely discussion. With notable daytime and primetime acting credits, we talked about his time on daytime soap operas, his producing aspect, his work on Asunder the Series, upcoming projects and much more.

When asked about his Asunder character, Anthony gushed, “Jackson is so fun! I personally love the character and I am excited to play a schemer. I think he will add a little drama to the world.”  About what he loves most about his character Anthony shared, “The lines and the way he moves gives me Sami Brady from DAYS and early Carly Corinthos from GH. But I do believe he has a heart of gold.

We then spoke of his time on daytime television in which he revealed, “I did a few episodes on All My Children when it was on Prospect Park. I was a bully and a teenager. I was 24. Haha. It was fun. Met amazing people there. General Hospital I’ve played a few episodes as a cop named Mark. It was really cool and I have been in and out a few times, plus I did the Nurses Ball!!!” So, having done acting and now moving on to writing and producing would Anthony return to daytime television? He said, “I would love to. I think soaps are the building foundation for a lot of actors.”  And, there’s the question of an All My Children reboot which Anthony highlighted, “That would be great. I think all of them should come back. All My children had such a rich history embedded in it. Haha I doubt they would even think of asking me but if they even looked through the list and asked me heck yeah. But I would just love for everyone there to get their job back.

Anthony then spoke of his projects on the horizon of which he revealed no primetime gigs at the moment. “Not at the moment, but I loved doing Primetime. I always get tagged in screenshots from that episode of Blue Bloods. I did some Friday Night Lights. One of my c- workers who I love to death, Justin, always brings it up about Dillion Panthers. I laugh my butt off at that. Also, I just realized that I have been in two shows that Michael B Jordan was in, I need his magic luck,” he shared.

On the subject of his hardworking series, “Pride: The Series” Anthony gushingly shared, “Yes, Pride is my baby. It means the world to me. I created that show and shot the season the day after i did my very first day of All My Children. Pride has been on Amazon Prime and just recently premiered on on TUBItv. I encourage everyone to check in out. I think you will see the growth and development from Season 1 to season 2. I feel it’s where we really got our story on a straight path to what i always wanted. The great thing about digital series you can always reinvent and grow at your own pace and most importantly your own risk. I’m really happy to continue work on Season 3 this summer.

So, what are your thoughts fans? Would you like to see AMC back on TV? Would you like to see Anthony return to GH?
