Portrayed By Charlotte Ross
1987 to 1991

The best soap characters lead action packed, drama filled, twisty lives with as much love and sex that the censors will allow. But sometimes you think wow that’s a lot to happen to even a fictional character, especially one so young. Eve Baron was one such character. But then you could think she kinda deserved everything she got lol. You decide for yourself.

Eve came to Salem in 1987 during the glory days of soaps on a mission to break up the marriage of Shane Donovan (her father who was oblivious to the fact that she was his daughter) and Kimberly “Kim” Donovan. Eve was convinced that Kim broke up her parents.

The young Eve was a prostitute working for Nick Corelli. Kim befriended the young troubled girl unaware of her ulterior motives. Eve stole a car and hit Sarah Horton before coming clean to Shane that she was his daughter. Shane took Eve in. That must have softened Eve up right? No. Eve showed her gratitude by trying to make Kim’s life a living hell. Kim wasn’t the only person in Eve’s target range. Eve developed feelings for Frankie Brady who was with Jennifer Horton. That must have been a deterrent for Eve right? No indeed. She was calculating, patient and waited for just the right moment to strike. So when Eve found out that Frankie “stepped out” on Jennifer while they were separated, she waited until Jennifer and Frankie reconciled to tell Jennifer about the affair hoping to do permanent damage to them.

Oooooh but undefeated Karma came for Eve…hard. Eve had managed to break herself free of Nick but was forced into that life again. She reached out to a pregnant Kimberly for help. You know Kim helped Eve. Sometimes when you try to do the right thing, stuff still happens. Kim was attacked and lost her baby. Eve was assaulted also and her face slashed and left with a scar. Months later, she was attacked by the Riverfront Killer and that attack left another scar.

When some boys at school showed interest in Eve, it set off a chain of events. Jake’s interest in Eve was only to the extent of him wanting to win a bet that he made to see how long it would take him to have sex with a hooker. Faced with the knowledge, Eve became suicidal. She survived and it wasn’t long before Eve wanted to serve her own dish of Karma.

Her and Nick set up Jake and his friends with alcohol and drugs. Jake and his friends responded in kind by kidnapping Eve. When Nick went to meet Jake to retrieve Eve he ended up in a game of chicken with Jake that ended with Nick’s car going off a cliff and exploding.

No, Nick wasn’t dead dead, he was only soap dead. Days was Resurrected Days even back then. Eve, a masked Nick (identity was unknown at first), Steve and Kayla were in a caper involving hidden money that belonged to Nick. Eve was kidnapped again by Eddie (who was also looking for the money). Eve was rescued.

Nick and Eve decided to have matching plastic surgeries, kind of like matching tattoos. Well, not really but it sounded cute didn’t it? Eve underwent a successful surgery for her scars and Nick a successful one for the facial burns he sustained when he went off the cliff.

During all this madness, Eve fell in love with and wanted Nick. Nick did give Eve a job singing (she moved on from her original profession) at Wings, the nightclub, he bought. But that was as far as he would go. He believed Eve deserved better and he married someone else.

Eve moved onto Scotty Banning II (son of David and Trish Banning and grandson of Julie Williams) who was with Faith Taylor (another aspiring singer). That must have been a deterrent for Eve right? Nope. If nothing else, Eve was consistent. She did the same thing she did with Jennifer and Frankie, she did everything to break them up. But unlike with Jennifer and Frankie, Scotty and Faith would leave Salem happy and together.

In October 1990, Nick was murdered by Jo Johnson (Steve Johnson’s mother) who was avenging her son’s “death”. Poor thing became a murderer for nothing. Anyway, Nick left Eve lots of Benjamin’s in his will but she had to get hitched to get it. We know who was the first person she asked…Frankie told her no. Jack Deveraux needed some cash to save the Spectator so they got married. The marriage made in “I’m just here the money” heaven was eventually annulled.

Eve got “ghost” when she became a suspect in Nick’s murder. But returned when Frankie told her she was exonerated. Eve deemed herself the hero, who drew the map that led the passengers (Eve, Frankie, Brian and Melissa Scofield, Jack and Jennifer), on a derailed themed train to safety. The train contained the murder weapon used to kill Nick. Johnny Corelli (Nick’s brother) detached the car they were all in when Nick’s murder weapon was found. Johnny thought his love, April Ramirez killed Nick (who was also Nick’s ex-wife) and was trying to protect her. The derailed train landed in the forest. But it was actually Molly Brinker who drew the map. Eve enjoyed the life of a hero until Molly came to Salem and spilled the tea. Eve, who had Frankie lost him again when her lies were exposed.

But when Frankie decided to go to work for a charity in Africa, Eve gave up everything for Frankie. Eve got Frankie, finally.
