Days of Our Lives is losing another familiar face. After four years in Salem, Elia Cantu is saying goodbye to the show and her role as Jada Hunter.
The actress shared the news in an emotional Instagram post on Thursday, confirming that her time on the long-running Peacock soap has come to an end.

In her statement, Cantu reflected on her time in Salem and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to bring Jada to life.
“As I say goodbye to Days of Our Lives, I’m excited and looking forward to the next chapter. Leaving Days is bittersweet, but I step away full of gratitude and joy for what’s ahead.
Jada Louise Hunter. It’s been an honor. She is bold, layered, and I’ll forever cherish bringing her to life. She remains a staple in Salem, and I’ll carry everything she taught me as I go. Jada, you will always be my girl.
To the cast and crew, thank you for your hard work and long hours. What a journey it has been. To the Days fans, thank you. You are incredibly supportive, caring, and dedicated. A Memorable Run as Jada Hunter
Cantu made her Days of Our Lives debut as Jada Hunter on July 19, 2022. Since then, she has been a contract player, appearing on both the daytime drama and its Peacock streaming extensions.
As of March 2026, the actress had been moved to recurring status, signaling that changes were ahead for her future on the show.
During her time in Salem, Jada evolved into one of the soap’s most prominent characters. She has been involved in numerous high-profile storylines and currently serves as Salem’s police commissioner.
