Samms shares two children with her former husband, John Holloway, to whom she was married from 1996 to 2003. Her family includes her daughter Beatrice “Micha” Holloway, born on March 30, 1998. In 2021, Samms tied the knot with journalist and TV presenter Simon McCoy.
Beyond her celebrated television career, Samms is deeply recognized for her inspiring philanthropic efforts. She was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2016 Birthday Honours for her dedicated service to seriously and terminally ill children.
