Could legendary daytime star Erika Slezak be making a return to soaps via ABC’s General Hospital? According to a trusted fan-run website dedicated to the actress, the answer is yes.
Walter Miller, who operates her fan club on the long-running Erika Slezak fan site, recently shared a major update:
“Erika has just informed me she has signed a short-term contract with ABC’s GENERAL HOSPITAL. At this time, Erika does not know which character she will be playing or when her scenes will air, but is excited to be working again with Executive Producer Frank Valentini and the cast of GH!”
Soap Opera News has confirmed directly with Erika Slezak that the news is true. That’s big news for longtime soap fans.
Slezak is best known for her iconic role as Victoria (aka Viki) Lord on One Life to Live, a part she played from 1971 until the show’s finale in 2012, and again in the 2013 online revival. Over the course of her legendary daytime career, she won six Daytime Emmy Awards, more than any other actress in daytime drama history.
Since One Life to Live, Slezak has made guest appearances on primetime shows like Blue Bloods and The Resident, and starred in films such as Guest Artist and Next Stop, Christmas.
Her potential arrival on General Hospital has sparked plenty of speculation. Will she play a new character? Could she reprise a classic role? We’re dying to know!
