Former General Hospital actress Eva LaRue is mourning the tragic loss of her real-life brother, Louie LaRue, who has passed away at just 40 years old.

Taking to Instagram with a gallery of photos featuring her and her brother, the actress—who played Natalia Rogers-Ramirez on GH—expressed her profound heartbreak in a deeply moving tribute.

“I’ve been avoiding making this post, because somehow, putting it into words, makes it real,” LaRue wrote. “I’m not ready to accept that someone so full of life, with so much more life to live, is suddenly gone at only 40 years old. I cannot wrap my head around it—I am utterly broken.”

A Fierce Protector, Champion, and “King Of Long Beach”

LaRue, who is also beloved for her Emmy-winning portrayal of Celeste Rosales on The Young and the Restless and her iconic run as Maria Santos Grey on All My Children, spoke candidly about the incredible bond she shared with Louie.

“My beautiful brother didn’t just light up every room he entered, he changed the entire energy of it for the better,” she shared. “That magnetic smile, infectious joy, that incredible ability to make everyone feel like family. Louie was my fiercest protector, and defender—He was my champion, and I was his. One of the fiercest, most loyal people I’ve ever known. Through some of the darkest and scariest years of my life, he showed up for me time and again. No hesitation. No questions. Just love in action. That’s who Loo was, he was the ‘ride or die’ for the people he loved.”

In addition to his loyalty, LaRue admired her brother’s vibrant drive and hilarious personality.

“One of the things I admired most about him was that he wasn’t just a dreamer, He was a doer!” she wrote. “Things most people talk about doing and never do, Louie actually did. Rapper, food influencer—he made shit happen with that hilarious, goofy, irresistible personality that made him the unofficial King Of Long Beach.”

She continued, “Louie lived life unapologetically—He worked hard, loved hard and played harder! And he had more quotable funny, one liners than anyone’s favorite comedy movie.”

“Go Light Up the Whole Damn Sky!”

Reflecting on the overwhelming support from friends, family, and loved ones during his time in the hospital, LaRue shared her gratitude before sending her brother off with a heartfelt message.

“The extraordinary outpouring of love from all who came to be by his side in the hospital, his second family at the @aulddubliner & everyone sharing their love and memories now, has filled my heart in ways I can’t begin to express,” she added. “I don’t know how to imagine a world without his incredibly infectious energy in it.”

She concluded, “I was so incredibly lucky to be your big sissy Louie. I desperately wish I could have one more hug, one more laugh, one more moment—but I know you’re needed elsewhere—Heaven needs a new entertainment director and you’re the best in the business! You lit up every room you walked into, now Go LIGHT up the whole damn SKY! And Dad is waiting for you, to welcome you Home. 🪽🙏🏼 I love you, Little Loo. Nothing will ever fill this huge hole in my heart. Rest in love, my beautiful brother, Until your smile is the first thing I see again.”
