Eva LaRue (All My Children, The Young and the Restless, General Hospital) was the special guest on the most recent Soapy podcast with hosts Rebecca Budig and Greg Rikaart. The compelling episode is an illustration of LaRue’s resilience, strength, and courage.

By far the most captivating part was when LaRue talked about her and Kaya’s (LaRue’s daughter with the late John Callahan, who LaRue co-starred with on All My Children) 12-year bone-chilling ordeal with a stalker.

This started when Kaya was five, and I had been on CSI Miami for about two years. I started getting these letters, long four, five, six, page letters. They were so horrifying. They were all about how he was going to kidnap me and my daughter, hold us as sex slaves, try to impregnate me, rape and chop up my daughter, and rape and chop me up.”

You don’t have words for something like that. Thank God LaRue and Kaya weren’t harmed. After advances in DNA technology, the stalker was ultimately captured, arrested, and incarcerated. He has subsequently been released after serving his time, which was only a three-and-a-half-year sentence.

A Nightmare Into a Documentary, Eva LaRue’s Story

The living nightmare endured by LaRue and Kaya is being told in the documentary My Nightmare Stalker: The Eva LaRue Story, which will premiere on Paramount+ this October.

LaRue also spoke about her mom. LaRue was raised by a single mom who endured the unimaginable. LaRue’s older brother was tragically killed by a drunk driver when she was eleven years old.

She also shared that her family was on welfare until LaRue was sixteen. Her mom sold her own blood to a blood bank so that she could have gas money to drive LaRue and her sister to L.A. to dance classes. She and her sister were good dancers and had dance scholarships. Her mom drove the two to dance classes every day after school.

Undoubtedly, LaRue got her resilience from her mother. LaRue’s mom passed away about a year and a half ago. God Bless her. May her life of love, sacrifice, and strength continue to be a beacon of hope for her loved ones.

There are several must-watch moments in this dynamic, riveting, and inspirational episode. This one is a must-watch! So, watch below.
