Good news, everyone! Finola Hughes is officially on her way back to General Hospital as Anna Devane.
Fans were quick to notice that both the legendary actress and her iconic character had gone MIA recently. When her name vanished from the contract list back in February, it sent the Port Charles faithful into a total tailspin. Thankfully, we can all breathe a sigh of relief now.
According to Chris McKenna, who plays Jack Brennan, “Finola is on her way back.”
During a friendly interaction on X (formerly Twitter), a fan mentioned how much they need Anna back to blow the WSB caper wide open and take down Cullom and Sidwell. Another fan simply chimed in to say they missed her. That is when McKenna jumped in to confirm the news we have all been waiting for.
Heavy Hitters Take a Break
It turns out Finola likely just took a temporary break, which is not the first time she has done so. She is not the only heavy hitter taking a breather, either.
Steve Burton is also on a temporary hiatus from his role as Jason Morgan. Steve recently shared that he is taking some well-deserved time off to enjoy life with his new wife, Michelle Lundstrom. He is set to be back on our screens later this summer.
As you know, Port Charles is always more interesting when the veterans are in town. So, don’t let the credits fool you; Anna Devane isn’t done with us yet.
Where We Left Anna Devane
Onscreen, things have been pretty heavy for Anna lately. Her most recent arc saw her grappling with the ghosts of her past. Between the return of Peter August as a haunting figment of her imagination and the emotional toll of her recent “interactions” with Caesar Faison, Anna was pushed to her limit.
So much so that she was legally remanded to a psychiatric clinic in France to get professional help.
