“The Bay” is set to dedicate a special episode to honor the legacy of Jackie Zeman in September. Zeman appeared on the hit series as Sofia Madison. She is also best known for playing Bobbie Spencer on General Hospital. She died in May 2023 after a short battle with cancer. As such GH paid tribute to her with a special episode earlier this year in January.
“The special episode titled ‘Sofia’ will be a celebration of both the Sofia character and Jackie Zeman’s life, with several special guest stars that meant something to Jackie’s legacy,” says showrunner and head writer Gregori J. Martin.
Among those set to appear in the tribute episode of “The Bay” are Dee Wallace and Leigh McCloskey who played one of Zeman’s ex-husbands on “GH.” Also joining this special storyline, Tamara Braun will appear in the special-guest star role of Rita “Elise” Kennedy, a blind woman who is given the gift of sight after receiving Sofia’s donated corneas. Real Andrews, James Preston and Kym Whitley returns as series regular while Darnell Williams joins the cast in the recurring role of psychiatrist Dr. Josef Givens.
