Actor Robert Gentry died at the age of 81 on September 17th, just 12 days short of his 82nd birthday.
The actor is best known for his work on daytime soap operas such as Guiding Light where he played Ed Bauer on two occasions from 1966 – 1969 and then again from 1996 – 1998. He also played Ross Chandler on All My Children from 1985 – 1900. His work on AMC earned him two Daytime Emmy Award nominations. Gentry also portrayed the role of Dr. Roger Hunt on Days of Our Lives from 1994 – 1995. In the storyline, Dr. Hunt briefly dated Laura Horton.
He is also credited with the role of Dr. Philip Lyons on Another World, Elliott Parker on The Bold and the Beautiful, Jordan Hale on Generations, Giles Morgan on One Life to Live and Brad Murphy on The Doctors. His death was reported in the December SAG-AFTRA Magazine memorial list.
