Get ready, soap fans, because this is a fun one. Broadway is making its way to daytime, and it is happening in a big way. Michael James Scott, who fans know as the Genie in Disney’s Aladdin, is guest-starring as himself on General Hospital in a special crossover event airing April 24 and May 4, 2026.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the show is officially crossing over with the Broadway production of Aladdin, which is not something you see every day on a soap.
A Trip to New York Changes Everything
The storyline kicks off with Gio (Giovanni Mazza) and Emma (Braeddyn Bruner) heading to New York City for a little getaway. It turns into more than just a trip when they reconnect with Gio’s old friend, Michael James Scott.
Gio used to play violin in a Broadway orchestra pit, which is how he met Scott in the first place during the show’s run at the New Amsterdam Theatre. So this reunion actually has some history behind it.
Bringing Broadway Back to Port Charles
The fun does not stop in New York. Scott later makes his way to Port Charles, and that is where things really come together.
During his visit, he hits the stage at The Savoy and performs Friend Like Me, the iconic number originally made famous by Robin Williams. You can already picture the vibe. A little jazzy, and perfect for a place like The Savoy, which is owned by Curtis Ashford.
A Fun Moment for GH Fans
Scott has been playing the Genie on Broadway since 2019, and he is set to wrap up his run on May 3, right before his Port Charles appearance airs.
So, are you excited to see Michael James Scott on General Hospital?
