She is back! Well, maybe not on General Hospital, but Avery Kristen Pohl has landed a new gig outside of Port Charles. The actress, who famously brought the chaotic Esme Prince to life, has joined the star-studded cast of Netflix’s highly anticipated live-action series, Scooby-Doo: Origins.
Pohl made her General Hospital debut as Esme Prince on August 16, 2021. The character quickly became one of the soap’s most talked-about villains and remained a central figure on the canvas for more than two years.
She appeared regularly as a contract player until Esme was presumed dead on January 31, 2024. Pohl later returned for a special guest appearance in December 2025.
Her work as Esme also earned industry recognition. In 2025, she received a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Performer in a Daytime Drama Series.
Now, she’s taking on an entirely different world with one of television’s most recognizable franchises.
