General Hospital’s Drew Cain and Danny Morgan do not get along onscreen for more reasons than one, and poor Scout Cain is caught right in the middle. But fortunately for their portrayers—Cameron Mathison, Asher Antonyzyn, and Kayden Brenna Tokarski—things are a lot lighter behind the scenes! Case in point, the trio hopped on the “I am Drew, I am Danny” trend, and let’s just say their version blew up social media.

Where Does the Trend Originate?

For those unfamiliar with the audio, the trend stems from the 2019 comedy song “We Are Not The Same Person” by popular YouTubers Drew Gooden and Danny Gonzalez. The duo originally created the satirical track because fans constantly mistook them for one another online. Their catchy hook—”I am Drew, I am Danny, and we are not the same person”—eventually exploded into a massive audio trend used across TikTok and Instagram Reels.

While the audio is traditionally used by lookalikes or doppelgängers, the General Hospital trio hit the nail on the head by taking a clever, literal approach. Because Cameron plays Drew and Asher plays Danny, using the sound served as a brilliant double entendre. It poked fun at their character names while hilariously contrasting their intense on-screen feud with their fun off-screen bond.

Fans Can’t Get Enough

Dropping the clip on his official Instagram page, Mathison captioned it, “Drew or Danny? Choose wisely,” and as you know, a large number of fans wasted no time jumping into the comment section to pick a side.

In the video, the trio playfully leans into the trend, but it is Kayden’s priceless reaction at the very end that steals the show. Fans immediately flooded the comments section to share their love for the stars, praise the cast’s off-screen chemistry, and pick a side in the fictional rivalry.

“This was so fun to make!! You two nailed it! 😂❤️🙌,” Kayden wrote in the comments.

Viewers couldn’t get enough of the crossover trend either, with one fan writing, “Best use of this sound ever! Love to hate Drew, but team Danny all the way!” Another added, “Kayden at the end was priceless!“

While viewers might be divided on who to root for in Port Charles right now, it is safe to say everyone loves seeing the cast put their own creative spin on viral trends when the cameras stop rolling.
