General Hospital kept viewers on the edge of their seats during the week of June 29–July 3 with back-to-back casting surprises. However, the biggest shocker came on July 3 when Bryce Durfee made a surprise return as Agent Vaughn.
Vaughn’s surprise return kicked off in a scene where Britt Westbourne—who is back in Port Charles—found herself stuck in a PCPD holding cell. Vaughn paid her a visit, but he wasn’t done making the rounds. Shortly after, he was spotted in the PCPD interrogation room questioning Charlotte and Danny, with Molly Lansing-Davis present.
Fans first met Agent Vaughn back in March 2025, when he worked closely with Josslyn Jacks, and they later became romantic partners. He was last seen in November 2025, when WSB agents carted him off under Jack Brennan’s orders.
While Durfee’s return is a welcome surprise, there is some more GH casting news.

Is Ryan Paevey Out? Cassius Faison Shockingly Killed Off
It looks like Ryan Paevey might be exiting the soap once again. During the July 2 episode, his alter ego, Cassius Faison, was shot during the chaotic events on Spoon Island.
Updating Josslyn Jacks, John Oliver’s character, Z, told the WSB agent that Cassius died from his injuries.
If this sticks, it marks the end of another run for Paevey, who previously played Cassius’ twin brother, Nathan West, from 2013 to 2018. And this would bring a tragic end to both of Paevey’s GH characters.
Wes Ramsey and Andrew Hawkes Exits
The twists didn’t stop there. Wes Ramsey made a surprise cameo as the villainous Peter August at the end of the July 1 episode. He appeared in another one of Anna Devane’s hallucinations.
Meanwhile, Andrew Hawkes’ run as Ross Cullum has officially come to an end. Ross was killed off this week, wrapping up Hawkes’ time on the show. While he was initially only supposed to stick around for three episodes, the actor managed to turn it into an impressive six-month stint.
Cullum died in the July 2 episode of GH.
