General Hospital fans tuning into ABC’s hit procedural drama 9-1-1: Nashville on Thursday, October 29, were in for a massive surprise! Fan-favorite actor Josh Kelly, who plays Cody Bell on the daytime soap, made an unannounced guest appearance in Season 2, Episode 2, titled “Let There Be Darkness.”
Soap viewers immediately did a double-take seeing Kelly pop up on their screens, as there was zero advance warning or casting announcement prior to the episode airing!
In the high-stakes hour written by Marta Gene Camps, a severe pollen storm hits Nashville, which a terrifying serial killer known as “Pharaoh” exploits as part of a biblical plague scheme by poisoning pharmacy allergy medication to cause blindness and organ failure.
Amid the town-wide chaos, Kelly plays a critical patient undergoing an intense, high-pressure emergency heart transplant performed under extreme conditions by Sam and Roxie.
