Former daytime heartthrob Justin Bruening recently paid a visit to Prospect Park to see his real-life wife, Alexa Havins Bruening, who currently plays Lulu Spencer on General Hospital! Naturally, soap fans are already buzzing with excitement about the possibility of him making a return to daytime television.
Justin Bruening Visits Alexa Havins on the General Hospital Set
Bruening, best known for playing Jamie Martin on All My Children, where his wife also played Babe Carey, shared a fun series of photos from his set visit. In one snapshot, the actor posed right alongside a portrait of his former AMC dad, Michael E. Knight (Tad Martin), who currently recurs on General Hospital as attorney Martin Grey.
“I’m lost…. Can someone point me in the direction of a good hospital? #GH #GeneralHospital Oh! Here’s someone! Lulu, you say? Hmmm….That’s weird…you look familiar. Have we met? You’re cute….. What are you doing the rest of your life? I’m thinking……… 4 kids? House in the burbs? 1,001 pets? Guys! She said YES!”
A True Daytime Romance
Bruening and Havins share one of daytime’s sweetest real-life love stories. After meeting on the set of All My Children, Bruening proposed to Havins right on set, and the pair tied the knot on June 5, 2005. Shorty after Bruening’s departure from the soap, Havins exited as well, and the couple relocated to Los Angeles to expand their careers and family. Today, the couple shares four children: Lexington Grace, Zane, and Zoe, along with their youngest.
Life After All My Children
Discovered at a McDonald’s in Escondido, California, before modeling for Bruce Weber, Bruening burst onto the daytime scene as Jamie Martin in 2003. Since leaving AMC, he has built an extensive primetime career.
He’s been a series regular on Netflix’s hit drama Sweet Magnolias and has appeared in major roles across Grey’s Anatomy, Lucifer, NCIS, Hawaii Five-0, Switched at Birth, and the Pretty Little Liars spin-off Ravenswood.
While Bruening stays busy in primetime, seeing him back on an ABC set alongside his wife has fans crossing their fingers for a surprise Port Charles stint!
Would you love to see Justin Bruening join the cast of General Hospital? If he made the leap to Port Charles, what kind of character or storyline would you want to see him tackle?
