General Hospital Episode Recap and Spoilers for Today, Friday, December 22, 2023:
What happened today on General Hospital: Friends and family gather at the hospital for the reading of “The Night Before Christmas.” Kristina makes a case to Molly and TJ. Jordan puts Cyrus on notice. Esme has a holiday gesture for Spencer. Carly is surprised.

At the hospital, Finn is reading a story and Liz teases him about going off script. Finn confides in her that the story makes him think of Gregory and Liz says that this may be his last Christmas. Finn is determined to not let the holiday be dark because of what is coming. Jordan sees Cyrus and tells him that he can’t be there. He tells her that he has forgiven her for fabricating evidence against him and she tells him she will be watching and waiting for him to mess up.
Brook Lynn and Chase get there with Gregory and Violet. Violet is excited about being the flower girl for their wedding. Gregory asks if he can speak to Brook Lynn alone. She agrees and they sit down to talk privately. He tells her that he wants to see her and Chase get married and asks that they do it soon.

Alexis tells Sam and Dante that she has to go through with skydiving for herself and for Scout. She notices them share a look and asks if something is wrong with Scout and Sam tells her about Drew wanting her to go to the private school and Scout not wanting to go. Sam thinks there is something off about Drew but Alexis thinks he is just trying his best.
Kristina repeats her offer to be an egg donor for Molly and TJ and tries to talk them into accepting. They are very hesitant and tell her that they have to think about it. She agrees to give them time and they decide to go talk about it in private now. After they go to talk Jordan arrives and Alexis tells her about Molly and TJ’s surrogacy setback. Kristina asks if they all think her being the egg donor is a bad idea and they tell her that it’s up to TJ and Molly.
When TJ and Molly come back they accept Kristina’s offer and excitedly hug and thank her. The family all happily celebrates Christmas Eve together

Esme drops Ace off at Laura’s and tells them that she can’t go with them because she has something to do. Spencer questions her, but she is evasive. After she leaves, Spencer asks Laura and Kevin if they think something is off with her, but Laura isn’t concerned. There’s a knock at the door and it’s Cyrus with a gift for Ace. They rush him out with the excuse that they have to get to the hospital and none of them want to be the ones to open the gift.

At home, Marshall remembers his almost kiss with Stella and Curtis is concerned about her. Marshall thinks she may be missing Irene. In the kitchen, Stella is thinking about her grandmother. Trina thanks Portia for including Spencer in their plans. Curtis tells Marshall that Irene would have wanted him to be happy and Marshall promises to try. Stella talks to Trina about Irene and Marshall’s relationship. They all leave to go to the hospital and Marshall and Stella share a charged look.

At Carly’s house, she and Donna talk on the phone with Bobbie and urge her to hurry home to them. After they hang up Joss arrives with Dex and Adam and tells Carly Adam isn’t going home for Christmas so she invited him to their house. Carly thinks Adam should be with his own family but Joss explains the situation to her. Donna is thrilled with Adam’s singing and wants more of it but Carly tells her they have to get to the hospital. Dex goes to get firewood and Joss offers to get Adam a plane ticket home to see his family. He explodes on her that she doesn’t understand before storming out.

Esme breaks into Wyndemere and looks around, remembering more of when Nik held her captive there. She goes up to the parapet and all of her memories come flooding back to her. She sinks to the ground as she remembers all of the horrible things she did.

At the church, Sonny and Michael light candles and explain to Wiley that they do it for the people they have lost Willow notices that Nina seems distracted and asks if she is thinking about Nelle. Nina admits that she was They talk about Nelle and Nina wonders if things would have been different for her if she had known Nelle was her daughter. Wiley is eager to go to the hospital for the Christmas story and Nina tells Sonny to go ahead with them and she will catch up. After they leave she lights a candle and cries as Cyrus watches her from a distance. After she goes into a confessional to confess her sins, unaware that Cyrus is on the other side listening.

Everyone is relieved when Laura finally gets to the hospital and she and Finn sit down to take turns reading part of the Christmas Story to the kids assembled in front of them. Spencer steps away with a fussy Ace just as Trina comes in and goes over to them, happy to see them there. Sonny looks around, confused about where Nina could be.
