General Hospital Recap: Nina’s Secret Is Exposed

General Hospital Episode Recap and Spoilers for January 2, 2024:

What happened today on General Hospital: Carly receives life-altering news. Sonny confronts Michael. Olivia gets angry with Lois. Sam grapples with how to co-parent with Drew. Willow comes to Nina for help.

Nina decides to confess to Sonny and heads out. On her way, she bumps into Willow who asks her for help with her messed-up dress. Nina agrees and helps Willow by loaning her a dress. She then tells her that she needs a necklace to make the outfit more perfect, and puts her necklace on her daughter. Willow notices that Nina seems unhappy and asks her what’s going on. Nina insists that nothing is wrong. Willow understands that they are still figuring out their relationship, but hopes that they can get to a point where they can share everything with each other.

Michael receives a call from Willow who says she will be late. Olivia informs him and Ned that Lois is still at The Savoy and they need to return there. Lois tells Sonny that she knows who reported Carly and Drew to the SEC. Sonny believes it’s Ned, but Lois reveals that it is not him, rather Ned is allowing everyone to believe it was him. As Olivia, Michael, and Ned walk back in, Lois tells Sonny to ask his son. Lois reveals they all know who reported Carly and Drew. 

Ned claims that he wasn’t the one and he would never take part in federal scrutiny. Michael then admits that he also withheld the truth from Sonny as he didn’t want to hurt him. He tells his father that sometimes the truth can do more damage than a lie and he has known since October. Lois, Olivia, and Ned leave to give Sonny and Michael some privacy. Michael reveals to his father that it was Nina who reported Carly and Drew as she walks in with Willow.

GH Recap Today

Carly awakens in bed with Drew. She thought it was going to be a horrible New Year’s Eve without Drew. Carly is now convinced that it is going to be a damn good year. Drew says he is he is hungry, and Carly wants to get him something, but Drew wants to take the lead on that. Drew then explains to Carly why he had to come back home early. Drew confides in Carly that he is no longer considering peace after spending months in Pentonville. Carly tells Drew that she is worried about him and that whatever he is going through, he doesn’t have to carry it alone. He promises that if he ever needs any kind of support, he will come to her. They discuss New Year’s resolutions. As Drew walks off, Carly gets a call informing her that Bobbie is dead.

Sam and Dante are watching the fireworks from the terrace when Sam apologizes to Dante for ruining their plans. They share a kiss and head inside when Scout runs in and tells her mom that she had a bad dream. Scout reveals that she had a dream about going to her new school, but her teacher was a monster. Sam comforts Scout by telling her that she does not have to go to that school if she does not want to. However, Scout is worried that Drew, will be angry with her. Sam reassures her that he would not be mad because they all want what is best for her. 

Later, Sam confides in Dante that seeing how upset Scout was, she has decided not to make her go to Westwood. However, Sam wonders if she made a mistake by telling Scout this without discussing it with Drew first.

GH Recap Today

Chase and Brook Lynn sneak into the Quartermaine mansion to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Brook Lynn opens a bottle of champagne to mark the occasion, but Chase is worried about getting caught. However, Brook Lynn reminds him that this is their first New Year’s Eve as an engaged couple. Chase shows Brook Lynn some photos of his father skydiving and is happy to see that his dad is making the most of his time. He decides not to let his worries about his father’s health ruin their night, and they exchange toast. As they are about to kiss, Chase gets a call about police business and has to leave. Later, Lois, Ned, and Olivia arrive at the mansion, and Brook Lynn asks what’s going on. Lois and Olivia go inside to talk privately, where Olivia asks Lois what she was thinking and accuses her of ruining Sonny’s life. Meanwhile, Ned fills Brook Lynn on the truth. Lois mentions that the situation only affects Ned’s deal with Michael. Lois also considers herself a friend of Sonny, and believes that Olivia should understand the importance of keeping secrets from him. However, Olivia is angry that Lois has brings up Olivia keeping Dante’s paternity a secret from Sonny. This upsets her, causing her to storm out of the mansion.
