General Hospital Episode Recap and Spoilers for January 5, 2024:
What happened today on General Hospital: Felicia and Anna reminisce. Cody comforts Maxie. Sasha encourages Nina to have faith. Sam and Drew have an argument. Dante is in a predicament.
GH Recap Today, January 5, 2024
Felicia is on the phone with Maxie discussing the passing of Bobbie. Maxie is feeling emotional and cannot believe that Bobbie is really gone. After the call, Anna embraces Felicia and tells her that Bobbie would not want her to go through this alone, and she is there to support her.
Anna accompanies Felicia to Bobbie’s office, and they both agree that Bobbie was loved by many people and always showed up for others. Anna also points out that the photos in the office tell a story of a life well-lived. As they go through Bobbie’s belongings, they find items from when she first became a nurse.
Cody arrives and asks Maxie what is wrong. Maxie reveals that Bobbie has passed away. Cody expresses his condolences and learns that Maxie received a heart transplant from Bobbie’s daughter. Maxie tells him that she cannot imagine Port Charles without Bobbie. They also discuss Cody’s gambling at a casino that was once owned by his mother. Maxie asks Cody about his purpose, but he tells her that he does not think he has one. Felicia walks in and tells him, “Nonsense, we all do.” Felicia apologizes for eavesdropping, and Cody tells her that she can help him get some insight into finding his purpose. Felicia encourages him to start off by being honest and reveals she had a new test she ran on him behind his back.

Drew visits Sam, and she thanks him for coming. She asks him about how Carly is doing. Drew suggests that Sam should give Carly a call, not just about Bobbie’s death but also about some other things happening in her life.
Drew also mentions that he should have called first about Scout. Sam tells him that he should have, as she could have saved him a trip. She also informs him that Scout won’t be going to Westwood Academy. Drew decides that he will talk to Scout, but Sam tells him that she is not there.
Drew is not happy that Sam made a parental decision without him. Sam apologizes and says that he should have come to her before pitching the idea to Scout in the first place. Drew acknowledges that he did blindside her. They argue about who gets the final word when it comes to their daughter. Drew apologizes for picking a fight and reveals that he lost more time with his daughter because of Nina. Sam is stunned to learn about Nina’s actions. Sam then reminds Drew that she also cares about him and if he ever needs to talk, she is available.

Nina is trying to get in touch with Willow and is pleading with her to call her back. Sasha encourages Nina to keep faith and allow Willow some time. Nina expresses her gratitude to Sasha for letting her stay the night.

Sasha reminds Nina that despite her becoming a public enemy, she still has friends. Sasha further reminds her that if she can forgive her for what she did years ago, she should have faith that others can forgive her, too. Nina is worried about how Sonny’s children will react when they find out. She brings up Michael’s hatred towards her and takes responsibility for her actions. Sasha advises Nina to think about what she can do to make things right. Sasha shares that she believes that Willow has a great capacity to forgive.
Dante visits Laura at the hospital, where he finds her asleep. Upon waking her, Laura inquires if the PCPD has any leads on who attacked her brother. Cyrus starts to wake up, prompting Laura to rush to get a doctor while Dante begins questioning him. Initially uncooperative, Cyrus eventually reveals that Sonny was the one who beat him up. Laura is taken aback, considering Sonny is not known for beating people up himself. However, Cyrus explains that Sonny had been deeply hurt by Nina’s betrayal and he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Laura passes on the information to Dante.

Lois pays a visit to Sonny, who tells her that he wants to be alone. She observes that his place is still intact after he discovered the truth about his wife. Lois thinks this is strange, but Sonny tells her that people can change. While she is there, Lois notices some packed luggage and wonders if Sonny is planning to leave. He clarifies that he is not going anywhere, but Nina is.
Lois is surprised that Sonny is evicting Nina and asks where she is going. Sonny replies that she owns a hotel, so she can go there for the time being. Lois then wonders if Sonny is done with Nina for good. Sonny reveals that he thought he had fallen in love with someone who was willing to own up to their mistakes, but now he has found out that Nina went against his family and lied to him for months. He is not prepared to forget that. Lois thinks that Carly doesn’t deserve what happened to her. While they are talking, Dante arrives to arrest Sonny.
