Spoilers for General Hospital on July 3, 2023: Carly and Sam clear the air; Drew receives a gift; Gladys is dismayed; Cody meets with Scott; and Dante is suspicious.
General Hospital Episode Recap July 3, 2023: Cyrus Has A Deadly Gift For Drew
Carly is going over the paperwork regarding her fine when Sam comes over. Carly thanks her for coming and Sam tells her about the morning she had taking Scout to say goodbye to Drew and then consoling her afterward. Carly feels guilty and Sam tells her that she was very angry at her at first but then realized that it wasn’t her fault. Carly tells her that she didn’t want Drew to do it either but he was determined. Sam says it was his choice and they have to support him.
Carly thanks her for saying what she said and they talk about Carly and Drew’s relationship. Sam is happy that they are together and hope they stay that way because she can see they care about each other and she wants them both to be happy. Carly makes her a cup of coffee and they talk about her fine. Sam offers to help her but Carly turns her down and tells her that it is her mess and she will clean it up. Sam says that as long as she keeps her grit, a roof over her head, and her freedom she will be fine. Carly grins and thanks her for giving her an idea of how she can get out of the financial mess she is in.
In Willow’s isolation room, she and Michael anxiously await the results of her latest tests. TJ comes in and tells them that he asked to be the one to deliver the results because they are life-changing. They are overjoyed when they learn that the tests indicate that the transplant worked and that Willow is in remission. He tells her that she can go home but has to limit the number of people she sees and follow safety protocols with them because her immune system is still very weak.
Willow is bummed about this but Michael cheers her up talking about her being home with the kids. He talks about how he wants to set the house up to be easier on her and they discuss who they will let into her “bubble”. Willow tells him that she wants to invite Nina to visit.
Dante goes to see Mac in the Police Commissioner’s office after Mac calls him. Mac tells him that he is just filling in until someone can be appointed. He called Dante over to give him the news about the charges against Cody being dropped. Mac tells him how bad he feels about arresting him when he had thought he was his son and Dante remembers his conversation with Cody about the real test results. Dante wants to go tell Cody the good news and Mac asks to join him.
At the pool, Scott asks Cody to sign the form declaring himself the son of Leopold Taub so they can proceed with the lawsuit against the WSB for the loss of the necklace. Cody gets worried when Scott tells him that the WSB will probably investigate him but Scott assumes he is worried about the pending charges and tells him that those won’t hurt his case. Cody signs just as Dante and Mac show up to tell him about the charges being dropped.
Mac asks to speak to Cody privately and Dante grills Scott about what he was doing with Cody. Scott tells Dante that he is representing Cody and there is nothing shady going on. Mac apologizes to Cody but Cody tells him that he didn’t blame him. Mac tells him that he hopes Cody will consider him a friend and Cody replies that he already does.
Sasha is at General Hospital for her next appointment with Dr. Montague and Gladys is with her trying to talk her out of dropping the guardianship. Sasha gets notified about Cody’s charges being dropped and shares the news with Gladys. She wants her to admit she was wrong about Cody but Gladys is reluctant. When Sasha gets called into the doctor’s office Gladys heads to Sonny’s.
Dr. Montague talks to Sasha about how she’s been doing and gets her to open up about the anxiety she has been feeling. He recommends mindfulness exercises and prescribes her a mild sedative to help her calm the anxiety. Sasha is reluctant because of her history of drug abuse but the doctor tells her it will be fine as long as only takes the prescribed dose and can control it. Sasha agrees to take them, not wanting him to think she can’t control herself.
Drew stops by Sonny’s penthouse on his way to Pentonville to drop off Ned’s guitar. He hopes it will help him remember his life. Sonny promises to look out for Ned and tells Drew that he has friends in the prison who will look out for him as well. Drew thanks him and Sonny gives him other tips about prison before he leaves.
Gladys shows up and Sonny tells her that he talked to Sasha and supports her decision to end the guardianship. They argue about it until finally Sonny cuts her off and tells her she can’t control it and has to accept it before making her leave. In the hall, Gladys gets a call from Dr. Montague who tells her that he gave Sasha the pills and everything is going as planned. He offers to call it off and get them back but Gladys says they have to move forward because it is the only move she has left.
At Pentonville, Drew is processed, fingerprinted, mug shotted, and searched before being taken to his cell. Cyrus attempts to give him a bible and talks to him about his group, telling Drew he belongs with them to give the other men hope and to be an example for them to follow. Drew figures out who he is and forcefully tells him to leave him alone. Cyrus insists he is a changed man and implores him to take the bible. Drew reluctantly does and opens it after Cyrus leaves. He finds a shiv hidden inside the hollowed-out book.
