General Hospital Recap: Marshall Gets An Unexpected Visit

 

 

General Hospital Episode Recap and Spoilers for Today, Thursday, December 7, 2023:

What happened today on General Hospital: Carly is intrigued by a customer; Scotty and Lucy reminisce; Dante provides proof to Anna; Gregory, Alexis and Violet have an awkward encounter; and Portia informs Curtis about an experimental procedure.

GH Recap Today

Alexis, Gregory, and Violet go Christmas tree shopping and Violet wants to look for a very special tree. Diane and Robert are also there. Robert tells Diane that he probably won’t get a tree for himself but he’s glad she invited him to go with her to pick her out. Alexis goes to look in another section for a tree and runs into Robert and Diane just as they are about to kiss. 

She surprised Diane is buying a tree because she’d never known her to have one before. Diane said she’s starting a new tradition. Violet and Gregory come around the corner and Gregory is less than thrilled to run into Diane. Violet asks why Gregory isn’t happy to see Diane but Diane covers and she and Robert leave. Violet asks Gregory about it again and Alexis distracts her by telling her to go check out some trees for them. Alexis asks Gregory if what he did was necessary. 

GH Recap Today

After they walk away, Robert asks Diane what’s happening and she tells him that she’s representing the family that suing General Hospital and Finn. Robert says that she handled it much better than Gregory did and she thanks him for noticing. Alexis tells Gregory that Diane is just trying to do her job and that she’s not the one that filed the lawsuit but she took it over because it’s going to trial. She tells him that there’s a good case and based on the evidence Diane will probably win. 

Gregory can’t believe that Alexis thinks Finn did anything wrong. Alexis tells him that she loves his son but she’s looking at it from a legal perspective and it doesn’t look good for him. She tells Gregory that she helped Martin and Finn when they were practicing the deposition and admits that it really made her realize how much she misses practicing law. Violet finds the perfect tree but decides that she doesn’t want it because it’s too pretty. She knows it won’t have a hard time finding a home. She wants a tree that’s special, but not too pretty.

GH Recap Today

Carly is working on her laptop at Kelly’s when Brennan walks in and greets her. Brennan asks if he can join Carly at her table or if she’s too busy. She tells him that she can take a break and orders his meal for him from the waitress before asking how he likes Port Charles. Brennan and Carly talk about the town and she asks how long he’s staying. He tells her his visit is open-ended. 

Carly asks what he does for a living and he tells her that he’s a security consultant. She thinks that means he used to be a spy but he tells her that he wasn’t. She steps away for a moment when Robert and Diane come in to get hot chocolate and Brennan watches Robert. Diane, Carly, and Robert talk about Christmas trees and Diane and Robert’s plans for a walk through the park that evening. After they leave Carly gets Brennan‘s order but when she looks over at the table she sees that he’s gone. 

GH Recap Today

Brennan comes back to Kelly’s and tells her that he had to take an overseas call and the reception was bad so he had to go back to the hotel to get his satellite phone. He offers her flowers that he bought on his way back as an apology. Brennan presses Carly to accept the flowers and she does. She offers to make him another BLT but he asks her to go out to dinner with him instead. She tells him that she’s seeing someone and he pays for his BLT and says that it’s his loss. Before he leaves, Carly asks if he really came in for a BLT and he tells her that he didn’t and says that he’s not sorry that he came.

Lucy sits down with Scotty and gives him the martini she ordered for him. He tells her that he’s glad she’s talking to him, unlike Liesl, who is running around from conference to conference to do her best to avoid him. They talk about when they had the affair that caused the end of her relationship with Kevin. She tells him that it made them realize they were better as friends. Scott reminds her that they often go back and forth.

They discuss their daughter, Serena, and Lucy tells him that even though she wasn’t biologically related, she thinks that when she carried Serena, she gave her some of her spirit heart and Scotty agrees. Lucy gets a text from Tracy and tells Scotty that she’s driving her crazy. He wishes she hadn’t given away her deception stock or her ELQ percentage and Lucy agrees with him but says that sometimes you have to make sacrifices for people you love. 

She tells him that she, Maxie, and Sasha aren’t taking a salary right now so they don’t have to lay anyone off. They talk about having grandkids and both agree that they would like them. She reminisces about her past and admits to Scott that she liked it when she ended up half-naked at the nurse’s ball because she knows she looked damn good. Lucy tells Scott that he could be the next Golden Bachelor and he says that he do it if all the contestants look like her. 

She tells him that it’s not something that she’s interested in and he wants to know why she’s alone. She says that she is still seeing Martin but she’s been so focused on Deception that she’s been neglecting him. Scott argues that Martin should be the one paying more attention to Lucy and says that if he was in Martin’s position he would be. He tells Lucy he still feels the sparks between them and Lucy says that it’s nostalgia. She tells him they’ll always be connected, but reminds him that they’re both with other people before she leaves very flustered.  

Curtis looks at the tree and congratulates Marshall on how well he decorated it. He notices Marshall holding an ornament and asks if one broke and Marshall tells him that Curtis‘s mother made that for him their very first Christmas together. Marshall tells Curtis the story of his first Christmas with Curtis‘s mother. Curtis is surprised because he never knew what that ornament was from before.  

Curtis and Marshall talk about how much his mother loved Christmas and Curtis says he thinks that’s why he loves it so much too. Portia gets home and is thrilled with the tree. Marshall gives them privacy and Curtis tells her the story that Marshall told him. They snuggle under a blanket and have mulled wine. He tells her that he has a special gift for her for Christmas. Portia tells him she has something for him as well, but it’s not a gift, it’s the chance for him to walk again. 

She tells Curtis about an experimental procedure that helped a man who was paralyzed like he is, walk after only 11 days. Curtis is afraid to get his hopes up. Portia explains the procedure to Curtis and tells them that it’s in the early stages, but that he’s a good candidate. She admits that she submitted his name and tells him that he’s being considered for the trial. Portia says there are no guarantees, but this could be a chance for him to walk again.

Outside, Marshall has a vision of his late wife, Irene. He talks to his vision of Irene about his regret about all of the Christmases he missed and wonders why he ever left. He cries about all of the time he missed with his family when he was misdiagnosed. He apologizes to the vision of his late wife and she tells him that he’s been given a gift and he shouldn’t waste any time being upset about things that he can’t change. Irene tells Marshall that she was hurt when he first left, but that she let it go and had a full life. She tells him that she didn’t waste her time thinking about what could’ve been and that she wants the same thing for him before the vision of her disappears.
