ABC Entertainment executives proudly honored the cast and crew of “General Hospital” on May 10, 2024, by dedicating Stage 4, the filming location of the renowned soap opera, as “The General Hospital Stage.” With its 60th anniversary celebrated last year, “General Hospital” stands as the longest-running TV scripted drama in production, boasting an unprecedented 16 wins of the Daytime Emmy ® Award for Outstanding Daytime Drama.

Filmed in Hollywood, California, the show has successfully aired an impressive 15,468 episodes to date.

General Hospital premiered on the ABC television network on April 1, 1963. It was created by the talented husband-and-wife soap writers Frank and Doris Hursley in the 1970s.
