Luke was initially introduced in 1978 as a hitman and anti-hero. Over time, he evolved into a romantic lead known for doing the wrong things for the right reasons. That complexity is a big part of what made him so unforgettable.
Luke Spencer was a legendary and central figure on General Hospital, famously portrayed by Anthony Gearyfor more than three decades between 1978 and 2015.
As one half of the iconic Luke and Laura supercouple, his 1981 wedding drew over 30 million viewers, becoming one of the most-watched moments in daytime television history. Geary went on to win eight Daytime Emmy Awards for his role, cementing his place as a true soap legend.
