Holy heck, you could practically hear the collective gasps of viewers everywhere during the jaw-dropping end of the General Hospital episode, which aired today on December 9, 2024!

Seriously, after Sam died, we were all scratching our heads—how does a perfectly healthy gal who donated a chunk of her liver to save Lulu suffer a heart attack? Albeit, we didn’t stay puzzled for too long because, episodes later, Portia cracked open the autopsy report and revealed that Sam’s heart attack was due to an overdose of digitalis.

But wait! Who’s the culprit? Our girl Elizabeth, the nurse who was on call for Sam’s surgery, noted that she has no recollection of Sam getting an overdose of digitalis. Buckle up, Elizabeth! When you and the rest of Port Charles learn what viewers just did with it, it’s going to be a wild ride—because Cyrus Renault donned a doctor’s coat and a dastardly grin to do the “Lord’s work.”

That’s right; in the climactic scene, Mr. Villain was seen entering Sam’s hospital room and injecting a dose of digitalis in her IV. Holy heck, we can’t wait to see where this goes!

  1. No surprise here. This was revealed on twitter in October. The only question is why and how much retconning will GH do to make it work.

  2. I really hope that it wasn’t Cyrus that killed Sam. I know he had a flashback but I’m still hoping somehow it’s not him. I like Cyrus and I wanted him to show people that he was trying to be on the up and up
