General Hospital has found its latest new face. According to TV Insider, Troy Lennon Appel has joined the ABC soap in the role of Hudson, a business executive with mysterious ties. The character is set to make his first appearance in Port Charles on July 30.
Appel Opens Up About Joining General Hospital
Speaking with TV Insider, Appel shared his excitement about joining the long-running daytime drama.
“Working on GH has been nothing short of an incredible, fast-paced experience. Everyone is very professional; they’re on top of every intricate part of this very established, well-oiled machine, and I’m just trying to keep up and not halt the process in any way.”
Who is Troy Lennon Appel?
According to the biography on his official website, Appel didn’t originally set out to become an actor.
In fact, it wasn’t until a high school teacher suggested he give acting a try that the idea even crossed his mind. Even then, it took him another four years to build up the confidence to pursue it.
Before that, sports were his primary focus.
Once he stepped into the world of acting, however, he quickly developed a passion for the craft and the creative opportunities it offered. During his time at Muhlenberg College, he landed his first stage role in the black box production of Mud before later appearing in his first film, Iowa City.
As a theater major, he continued building his résumé with productions including This Is a Chair, The Miss Firecracker Contest, and Arms and the Man. Along the way, he studied everything from stage combat to classical acting and even singing.
More Than Just an Actor
Appel graduated from Muhlenberg College with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Communications.
Outside of acting, he was also a standout athlete, becoming a two-time conference qualifier in discus for the school’s varsity track and field team.
Since graduating, he has expanded his career into film, television, and modeling. He currently resides in Los Angeles, where he also works as an AFAA-certified personal trainer while continuing to pursue opportunities in the entertainment industry.
