Earlier this year, reports came forward that fan favorite Genie Francis (Laura) was taken off contract at ‘General Hospital’. Since then viewers have worked assiduously to send a message to the crew behind the scenes that #GenieIsGH. It seems the powers that be heard fans’ outcry and they themselves are working assiduously to bring the popular star back on the canvas. In fact, Francis recently had lunch with the show’s Executive Producer, Frank Valentini and she also came to his defense after several fans had attacked him on social media blaming him for the actress’ change in status. “It’s been painful for me to see @valentinifrank receive so much of the blame for the decision to take me off contract,” she shared adding “No one fought harder to re-establish Laura on @GeneralHospital. He has always been my champion & I don’t believe he took any pleasure in seeing Laura diminished.” Well, whatever the case may be, we’re hoping her recent lunch with Valentini means a return rather sooner than later.
