When we recently sat down with Lydia Look who portrays Selina Wu on General Hospital, she couldn’t say enough good things about the amazing fan response she has received!
“The fans are the only reason why I am continuing on this trajectory…if people are not responding to you they will just put you in jail to write you out.” She explained to us, “The fans are a huge part of General Hospital. When you guys talk about us and ask for this and that, that is how the roles get expanded.”
“This come from the bottom of my heart. This reception was totally unexpected by me. I am more of an Instagram chick but a friend told me I had to check my Twitter. I was just blown away, the things that people were saying about me. Some of it made me cry because no one has ever said such nice things about me. My family does and my friends do but this was fans.”
Lydia has worked extensively on movies and on primetime but daytime has shown her a new side to the entertainment industry and it’s relationship with the fans. “I started out as an ‘under 5’ but because the fans like me I’m given a bigger opportunity so I feel a great debt to the fans and I feel a responsibility. I feel like the character of Selina is all of your character’s. You’re helping me shape her and encouraging me. Daytime fans are the best. They are so warm and they wish me the best on Twitter. I feel so blessed for all that love. If it ends tomorrow, I’ve had it. It happened to me and I feel very grateful.”
She tries to honor and reward that fan love she receives and does it well! “I go in there and I try to do my best. I try to show what I think this woman is about, try to give her life. I am so excited that people are responding to her. My cake is baking right!”
Lydia Look loves her fans and they love her back!
