General Hospital’s Maurice Benard sat down for a Facebook Live chat to answer questions from the fans. During the talk, the actor shared some exciting tidbits about what is coming up for Sonny, Carly, Jason… and even Nina!
Since Sonny is alive, Jason (Steve Burton) and Carly’s (Laura Wright) marriage isn’t legal. That doesn’t mean that the union won’t cause conflict between Sonny and his longtime friend. “Jason and Sonny’s friendship, it can never end. There could be a strain, but it can never end,” the actor acknowledged. “But wait until you see what’s happening between them. It’s really good.”
As the truth about Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) involvement in keeping Sonny from his family is revealed, Maurice applauded Watros’ incredible acting throughout the difficult storyline. “You can forget your memory, but you can’t forget your heart,” Benard teased. “He’s going to cover it, but he still loves Nina. And he loves his wife. He’s going to protect his wife and stand by his wife, but anytime he’s near Nina, stuff happens. And I can’t wait ’til the day that you see it.”
