Michael Easton is celebrating his 10th anniversary on General Hospital today but he is also celebrating 31 years in soaps.
Easton, a California native was educated and raised in both the US and Ireland. He got his start in daytime television on January 10, 1991, with a two-year stint as Tanner Scofield on NBC’s Days of Our Lives.
Easton returned to Daytime in 2001 with ABC’s Port Charles, a spinoff of General Hospital that took a more supernatural turn, as he helped shape and create the vampire antagonist Caleb Morley/Michael Morley.
When Port Charles ended, Easton began work as Detective John McBain on One Life to Live in 2003 – a role he played for the next nine years. Easton reprised his One Life to Live role on GH from March 13, 2012 – March 2013. He rejoined the cast on May 13, 2013, as Dr. Silas Clay until the character was killed off on August 5, 2015. He rejoined the GH cast yet again in March 2016 playing his current character, Dr. Hamilton Finn, an infectious disease specialist and epidemiologist with a penchant for waistcoats and a bearded dragon named Roxy. His performance as the character battled addiction and subsequent struggle in withdrawal and recovery earned him a Daytime Emmy nomination in 2018.
