In the latest installment of Stone Cold and The Jackal on YouTube, General Hospital stars Bradford Anderson and Steve Burton surprised fans with a fun guest. Joining them was one of the show’s newer faces, Paige Herschell, who plays Jacinda Bracken.
Herschell opened up about her time on the show and revealed that her role was never meant to last this long. It started as a short arc, just a few episodes. But she kept getting called back, and now Jacinda has become a steady presence.
From Short-Term Role to Fan Favorite
She also shared something fans probably wouldn’t expect. Before landing Jacinda, she originally auditioned for the role of Blaze, the singer later played by Jacqueline Grace Lopez. It didn’t work out at the time, but it clearly wasn’t the end of the road for her.
Now, her current storyline is taking Jacinda in a new direction. What started as a sharp, guarded character is slowly turning into something more layered. Herschell talked about the shift, hinting at a softer, more vulnerable side as part of Jacinda’s redemption arc.
Life Outside of General Hospital
Outside of acting, Herschell has a strong passion for music. She’s part of a jazz band called San Leon, which focuses on 1930s and 40s gypsy jazz.
The group recently released an original album. There’s even a chance fans could see that side of her make its way onto the show if Jacinda ever gets a chance to sing.
She also shared a few stories from her early days trying to make it as an actress. At one point in New York City, she was living in a closet just to get by.
Another time, she lost her car for an entire month after it got buried under a massive snowdrift.
Back on set, Herschell talked about how fast-paced soap filming can be and how much she’s learned working alongside cast members like Jane Elliot (Tracy Quartermaine). She also mentioned working with the actor who plays Michael, Rory Gibson, as part of her experience settling into the show. And she teased about working more with Kate Mansi, aka Kristina Corinthos.
And in a fun little twist, Herschell revealed she shares the exact same birthday, September 21, with host Bradford Anderson. Watch the full interview below!
