General Hospital’s Parry Shen is celebrating 9 years in the role of Brad Cooper!
On May 6, 2013, Shen debuted in the recurring role of Brad Cooper on General Hospital. Brad was introduced to the series on February 13, 2013, played by Marcus Toji. However, Shen took over the role on May 3, 2013. “I was kind of getting bored and looking for something new. Something to challenge me and get me scared,” Shen said of his reason for taking the role. When he auditioned, Shen was told that the role was recurring and didn’t expect it to last long.
Brad is described as the scheming lab technician at General Hospital who worked to sabotage Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) on behalf of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) in exchange for a promotion. Meanwhile, Brad crushes on Sabrina’s best friend, Felix DuBois (Marc Anthony Samuel), and does his best to change his schemes to get Felix to pay attention. However, by the time Felix and Brad start dating, Brad catches the eye of Lucas Jones (then played by Ryan Carnes, now played by Matt Trudeau). Brad is also revealed to be the great-grandson of Mr. Wu, who appeared in the series in the mid-1980s as part of the famous Asian Quarter storyline.
