ABC’s “On The Red Carpet” showed a Christmas preview for “General
Hospital” with the best present fans could ask for: Genie Francis’ return!
It appears some of the residents of Port Charles will gather
in the plaza around Christmas time. Some
of the cast members spotted on the set during the preview were: Genie Francis
(Laura Collins), Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins), Marcus Coloma (Nikolas
Cassidine), Maura West (Ava Jerome Cassidine), William Lipton (Cameron Webber),
Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Spencer Cassidine), Sydney Mikayla (Trina Robinson),
Avery Kristen Pohl (Esme Prince), and Charles Shaughnessy (Victor Cassidine).
Genie Francis took the summer off and will be returning to
GH in early December (no specific air date mentioned at this time). Laura stated in the preview, “Oh well it’s
the perfect time to come back, isn’t it? Christmas!”.
A brief clip was shown of Martin (Michael E. Knight) talking
to his half-sister, Laura. Martin asks, “So
maybe they are eliminating or have eliminated the threat against us?”. To which Laura replies, “I mean how is that
possible? We both know that he will never
stop trying to get revenge”. It sounds
like Martin and Laura are trying to figure out if it is safe for them to return
to Port Charles based on their brother, Cyrus’ current situation. However, Cyrus has been in prison for some
time now, so fans will just have to wait and see how Martin and Laura determine
they can return in time for the holiday!
And will they remain safe?
Genie Francis’ co-stars only had positive things to share
about her in the preview (as expected!):
William Lipton: “She’s like my kind of grandma on the show,
so always so sweet to get some affection from the amazing Genie Francis.”
Nicholas Alexander Chavez: “She’s really really really
amazing to work with and yea, she just beams whenever you see her, it’s awesome!”
Avery Kristen Pohl: “Super welcoming and amazing to work
from as well.”
Charles Shaughnessy had a brief spotlight in the preview
talking about his character, Victor: “It’s good not to be dead. He’s like a cockroach, you just can’t put him
down. He’ll pop up again and again so yea, I’m having a lot of fun with it”.
Genie Francis was asked how many Christmases she has spent on
the show and her response was: “Oh my goodness!
Well, I started here when I was about 14, but I haven’t been here for that
whole time obviously, but a lot; I’ve been very fortunate to share a lot of my
life with a lot of these people here”.
Fans are very fortunate to have one of their favorites return to GH just
in time for Christmas. Genie Francis is
an iconic and legendary part of the show and fans can not wait to see her and
Laura back in action.
