On General Hospital for May 11, 2023: Tracy calls in a favor; Chase throws himself into work; Cody seeks out Selina; Esme rushes to the hospital; and Portia is grateful.
Tracy tells Brook Lynn that the way she wants her to pay her back for helping Chase get reinstated is to get her old job at Deception back. Brook Lynn doesn’t understand why Tracy would want that until she tells her granddaughter that she wants her to give her a heads-up about any new products in development. Brook Lynn tries to convince Tracy that she should stay with her music career by telling her how happy she is and how much it means to her but Tracy is unmoved. She insists that Brook Lynn has to be her spy at Deception, or else!
Tracy tells Brook Lynn that if she doesn’t do as she asks then she will tell Chase that she bribed the CCRB to give Chase his badge back. She asks Brook Lynn what Chase is going to think when he finds out that she went behind his back to her and suggests that they find out. Brook Lynn thinks that her grandmother is bluffing but Tracy pulls out her phone and calls Chase’s cell phone!
At the PCPD, Chase comes in for his first day back at work and is greeted with cheers and a pile of work on his desk. He and Dante discuss Cody and Dante tells him that he doesn’t think Cody is guilty of stealing the bracelet. Chase brings up what happened with Cody and Britt but Dante says that was Cody doing the wrong thing for the right reasons and reminds Chase that he has experience with that when it comes to Brook Lynn.
As they are talking Chase’s phone rings and when he answers he’s surprised to hear Tracy on the other end. Brook Lynn looks on in horror and Dante looks on in confusion as Tracy suggests they meet for lunch and tells him that she’ll be in touch before hanging up. Chase asks Dante what that was all about as Tracy asks Brook Lynn if she is going to take her deal or if Tracy is going to take the lunch with Chase. Dante tells Chase that Tracy probably has an agenda and that he should go to lunch with her and find out what it is. Tracy tells Brook Lynn that Chase is only a phone call away and Brook Lynn gives in and asks her when she wants her to go back to work at Deception.
Sasha can’t believe that Maxie wants her to go back on the show where she hallucinated Liam and had her breakdown but Maxie is adamant that it has to be her. Maxie tells Sasha that the only way she will truly heal is to confront what happened and overcome her fear of it. Sasha is starting to bend when Gladys tells Maxie that she will never agree to allow Sasha to do it.
Gladys talks to Maxie about how fragile Sasha is and tells her that it is her responsibility to take care of Sasha and make the right choices for her. Sasha interrupts and tells Gladys that she wants to do it and she’s going to. Gladys is worried but agrees before leaving them to talk. Sasha discusses her fears with Maxie but Maxie tells her that she has faith in her and thinks she’s strong enough to do it.
At The Savoy, Selina Wu is making sure everything is in place for her private party for her nephew when Cody approaches and asks if he can get in on her poker game that night. She turns him down and tells him that no one will want to play with a thief. He assures her that he’s innocent but she is unconvinced.
Gladys sees them talking and thinks Cody is badmouthing her. She interrupts and tells Selina not to listen to anything Cody is saying. Selina tells them that she is close to getting rid of both of them but tells them they can play that night. She tells Gladys that she hopes her luck changes before walking away.
After a tender reunion with his daughter, Taggert thanks Curtis for saving her. Curtis says it was a group effort and Trina asks to talk to Taggert privately. They go to Portia’s office and Trina tells Taggert that she’s decided to get the paternity test with Curtis and wanted him to know. She tells him that he will always be her father no matter what the test results say but tells him she needs to know for sure and that she doesn’t want any more secrets or mysteries between any of them.
While they are waiting for Trina to return Curtis and Portia start to talk about the issues between them but are interrupted by a WSB agent wanting to speak to Curtis privately. Curtis goes downstairs with the agent, expecting to be debriefed but instead, the agent offers him and off the books job with the WSB. He commends him for the job he did in Greenland and tells him they need his help. Curtis turns down the job but the agent tells him to think about it and gives him his private number. When Curtis gets back upstairs Taggert and Trina come over to him and Portia. Trina tells him that she wants to do the paternity test.
Laura and Spencer take Ace to get checked out and while Spencer is talking to his little brother Laura calls Esme and tells her to get to the hospital as soon as she can. Spencer isn’t thrilled when Laura tells him what she did but knows it was the right thing to do. When Esme gets there she has a tearful reunion with her son and thanks Spencer and Laura for saving him. Spencer tells her that Trina did too and Esme is surprised after everything she did to Trina before she had amnesia.
Spencer tells Esme that if she knew anything about Trina she would know she would never take anything out on Ace. Austin comes in and tells Laura and Spencer to wait outside while he checks out the baby. He does the exam and Esme is relieved when he gives Ace a clean bill of health. As they are leaving they run into Trina and her family. Spencer stiffly tells her that they are taking Ace home and Trina looks on unhappily as they leave.
