Soaps would not be soaps without the drama, and The Young and the Restless has been serving it up in that department lately. With a wedding, the return of two evil villains, and a car crash, the show has kept viewers on the edge of their seats! Honestly, if we had a dollar for every jaw-dropping moment, we’d be rich! It is common for viewers to question how the production executes such dramatic scenes, including Phyllis’s recent car crash. Fortunately, Michelle Stafford, the actress portraying the character, has provided fans with an insightful behind-the-scenes glimpse into the events leading to Phyllis’s hospitalization.

In one clip, we spot her all alone in her car, and then—bam!—a next clip shows the fiery scene with cameras, the behind-the-scenes crew, Conner Floyd (Chance) and Joshua Morrow (Nick), looking all dramatic, and another shot of Sharon Case (Sharon) in her car. In a humorous caption, Stafford quipped, “While everybody was at the wedding… Phyllis, beaten up, in a car…alone. Happy to be a part of the 13,000 #YR. Congratulations on this milestone, #YR.” The show aired its 13,000th episode on November 13, which just happened to be the same episode where Phyllis crashed! Check out the behind-the-scenes antics below!
