Bringing a Few Grains from the Hourglass to the Gates? You bet. Fairmont Crest just got a whole lot hotter, sexier, and undeniably hunkier—because Days of Our Lives favorite Greg Vaughan is officially trading Salem for a new zip code. The soap heartthrob is joining the cast of CBS’s buzzworthy new daytime drama Beyond the Gates, and fans are already counting down to see what kind of heat he’ll bring.

Greg Vaughan is no stranger to daytime drama—in fact, he’s practically soap royalty. The former fashion model has spent over two decades captivating audiences with unforgettable performances across three major soaps.

From his breakout role as Diego Guittierez on The Young and the Restless (2002–2003), to his emotional turn as Lucky Spencer on General Hospital (2003–2009), and most notably, his long-running role as Eric Brady on Days of Our Lives (2012–on and off), Vaughan has more than earned his daytime cred.

In 2018, he even took home the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his work on DAYS.

Who Will Greg Vaughan Play on Beyond the Gates?

Rumors of Vaughan’s jump to Beyond the Gates began swirling after eagle-eyed fans spotted him in a behind-the-scenes video celebrating co-star Clifton Davis (Vernon Dupree)’s 80th birthday. And let’s just say—once the internet noticed, then you know what comes next.

According to Parade, “A spokesperson for the show told Parade that Vaughan will be making his debut later this season.” The site continued, “meaning his episodes will premiere before the end of December with Episode 200. An exact date for his appearance has yet to be confirmed.”

As for who the soap vet will play, that remains under wraps. With that said, Soap Opera News will update you once more information becomes available.

Fans will also see some more of Vaughan later this year on Days, when the show celebrates its 60th anniversary.
